Very chilled, helpful friendly staff. Great food, reasonable drinks pricing. Plenty of space to sit or at the bar. Lots of outdoor seating if the weather's right.

The Ship is our local and even though we try different places we are always drawn back. The staff are professional, hard working and friendly. The food is consistantly good no matter how busy they are.

Hygiene, cleanliness could be better. Tables filthy, no clearing up of dirty plates, glasses etc. Don't need full commentary of rugby and the post mortem right in my ear. Speaker right over table. Couldn't have a conversation very easily. Main dish could have been hotter.

Visit here often when visiting my Dad. Food always cooked fresh good portions and friendly staff. They also have a nice area for sitting outside when weather is good. We enjoy a visit here.

We have used this pub a few times. Each time we visit we have a couple of drinks and a meal. We have had the sizzling meal... Mixed grill and jerk chicken skewers... Amazing!
We also had the big plate chicken tilka masala.... Amazing. I would definitely recommend the food here. The service is quick and efficient. The atmosphere is great.

We really enjoyed most of our food. Steaks were not great, tough, and a lot of gristle. Sizeable meals (and desserts). Great prices, too. The staff were also lovely. Would recommend eating here, especially the ribs.

Good pub, near to the centre of town, 3 ales available, a beer garden at the front of the pub is popular in summer, no frills food is also good value

Busy, bar staff were on top of serving, 4 people waiting, 50 mins advised re food wait, not unreasonable. Staff friendly and helpful, assorted meals good, well cooked, mixed grill steaks were tender, deserts and coffee were fine. This is one of our locals,
which had deteriorated so we and our families stopped going, but we were pleasantly surprised with our recent visit, and will be going again to try the various offers.
