Hydroponic Cafe

I suppose we should start from the start, we arrived at the cafe to no greeting, we then had to get someone to offer us service at the table, so that was a disappointing start. We ventured two hours to get to the cafe for the vanilla slice alone, sadly we left disappointed! Yeah they look big, but big is not best. At $7.50 a slice, eating only half made both of us feel sick and tainted our breakfast we had here prior (that was amazing) this is overloaded with cream, if that’s what you’re into, then this might suit you; for me I was hoping for a custard filled vanilla slice. Word of warning, only one is enough for two people (perhaps we could have been warned). As for the customer service, they were quite friendly once you got somebodies attention. One of the pics is us having our slice and coffee, the other a pic of what might have swayed our rating, but sadly he had more clothes today :(

Really not impressed with our visit here for brunch today... arrived shortly after 11am and understand that this is peak brunch time, however when we asked for a table for two the response was oh I'm not really sure.... we're pretty busy! We could see that and really just wanted to know how long we would have to wait as we were pretty hungry! We did then get a table for 2 on a large share table and were told that they would bring the menus out to us... luckily there were some menus on the table as we would still be waiting for them. We ordered our food and coffees at about 11.10 and by 11.25 received our coffees & expected the food to arrive soon after... 11.50 my husband had to ask how much longer our food was going to be! The issue was not the waiting entirely it was the zero communication that there was such a long wait for food. Really unimpressed and unfortunately won't be back in a hurry. Maybe when they open their new location next door the kitchen will be able to cater for the amount of tables they have in the cafe as I would love to support this local business more! Would have loved to have grabbed a coffee to go and some sweet treats but didn't want to wait all day for them! :(
