China House

On March 21, 2022 I wanted to try a new restaurant. I called and placed an order for boneless spare ribs, moo shu pork, wonton soup and hot/sour soup. Upon entering the restaurant for the first time I was shocked at how grimy & dirty the place was. I was apprehensive about picking up the order and was tempted to turn around and walk away. Once I got the food home and started serving it, I noticed the wonton soup was just broth and dumplings. Traditionally the soup will have scallions and strips of roast pork for added flavor. The other soup looked fine. The moo shu pork tasted disgusting and the majority of the entree was thrown away. The boneless spare ribs were not cooked "well done" and were a little chewy and lite on flavor. This way the first and LAST TIME I will shop here. The food from Kings Chinese in Freehold, NJ is much better.

I used to work 5 or so minutes from here, and because of that, I would order lunch from here pretty much every week... sometimes several times a week. In my opinion they make the best chicken and broccoli anywhere. The chicken is thin and soft, the broccoli nice and crunchy, and the brown sauce is perfectly flavored and not watery so it sticks to everything nicely. In fact, since I changed jobs, I have not been able to order this for lunch anymore and I really miss this dish. As the old saying goes... Don't judge a book by its cover...New China House may not be fancy...it's a takeout place after all...but if you want flavorful Chinese food that's very reasonably priced, good portions, AND run by some really nice people... definitely check out New China House.

Ordered for a couple of years and food was fine untill last week. Made a $45 order and food was horrible not even edible. Pepper steak with only onions and no steak, the meat was pink and rubbery like old pork besides the container only half full. Tofu dried out and could not be chewed. Moo goo guy pan was actually stale tasting and gummy like it was made days earlier. I called and was told I would be taken care of next order. Called a few days ago to re order was told to call another day. Called today was told my new order would receive a 10% discount. I complained and she got off the phone and came back on and said we only give 10% off for that issue. I told her take my name out of their system I will never order from them again. Buyer beware. $45 worth of food went in the garbage. I am not picky at all but this food was really bad.
