Bread 'n Batter

La Rose is hands down my favorite bakery. The pastries are among some of the best and the bread/buns are always fresh. Hold up well in the freezer too. The hot table food never disappoints, always a great variety. We often stock up on some of the freezer items too - the ravioli is fantastic on busy weeknights. Close to Valentine's Day they make heart shaped Ravioli and it's a really cute dinner. In the summer, we'll grab a few cold cut sandwiches before heading outdoors and it makes the perfect lunch. There are some great pre-packaged items. The imported stuff is the BEST. Nostalgic candy and fun sweets. I often get asked where I got them from and always convince people to pay La Rose a visit! The prices reflect their quality ingredients and importing this kind of stuff is not cheap. Visiting La Rose is really a special treat.

The day of my baby shower another company that was originally supposed to cater all the food fell through last minute, leaving us in a pretty bad predicament an hour before my guests arrived. I called La Rose Bakery and spoke to Sal - he was SO kind, sympathetic to my situation and immediately offered to help right away which eased so much stress. My fiancé went in and was helped right away by Sal and another lovely woman (we didn't catch her name). They quickly helped him select everything we needed for our 15 guests and provided exceptional customer service on a busy Sunday. They literally saved the day! They were even kind enough to give us flowers for my special day. The sandwiches, salad, cake and pastries were fresh and amazing. Everyone was so impressed. I would recommend this bakery to everyone! The food is fresh and delicious, and they go above and beyond to provide the best customer service. I can't thank them enough!!

Great little bakery and grocery store but the prices seem to have gone through the roof in the past few months. I always go here to get a birthday cake but the last time I went it was almost $50 for a cake! I understand prices have gone up across the board but last year these were for about $35 that’s a huge increase! :(

Very good selection of bakery products. The cannolis are amazing! They have some specialty British and Italian snacks. The store staff are great. I am taking off 1 star because I wanted to order a cake in advance with less added sugar, and they couldn’t accommodate. I had to order from somewhere else.

Wait times are too long at the hot plate/pastry section - No one directs the customers where to line up. It's so irritating. Sweets have been stale lately, it wasn't like that before. The staff that deals with the customers, not the working at the back are rude and stern. I don't need attitude. I am a paying customer. I rather drive to Oakville to go to Whole foods, everything is way better there from quality to customer service. Good luck!!!
