The Half Shell

I went into this location for their crab cakes. I placed my to go order at bar, the bartender who took my order was polite, respectful , they prepared order fast, food was delicious once i got home to eat it. The crab cakes was delicious an i luv their steak fries, it was a crab cake po boy with steak fries, maybe I'll add shrimp next time, everything was delicious i definitely will give em 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 an im looking forward to a return trip.

I visited this restaurant with my mom and stepdad while in town from Atlanta because it was close to our hotel and recommended by a friend from Memphis. Our service was a little slow, but our waitress was nice and offered good recommendations for food and drinks. The food and drinks were on point. My stepdad hasn't stopped talking about one of the best gumbos he has ever had and even went back a day later to get a gallon which he drove back to Atlanta! The red beans and rice were good as well. The peel-n-eat shrimp were fresh. This lemon drop martini was made just right. I will definitely return when back in Memphis.

The Half Shell Restaurant was ok. The restaurant was easy to locate. The waitress was attentive. The was average, we liked the crab cake and tarter sauce the best. BE AWARE THAT EXTRA SAUCES OR BUTTER is extra cost. The waitress didn't mention it the upcharge of .50 cent. The bread was good. The restroom needed attention, I made sure not to show the trash on the floor, but it did smell good. Although we were passing through, this would not be a repeat restaurant. There is also added gratitude and prices at different times. I feel like the restaurant may be using COVID to mandate people to tip. My concern is that I always tip for good service. I was told the waitstaff gets paid $2.80 an hour, which is pathetic for a company to pay less than minimum wage. I would never eat here again when a company doesn't pay their staff minimal wages and expect for them to be excellent servers.
