A few weeks ago I accidentally stumbled across Jasper's, an amazing Jazz bar that has just opened in Melbourne. A very classy venue with fantastic live music and great staff dedicated to ensuring you have a magical night. Do your self a favour and checkout this great up and coming venue that no doubt will one day be a Melbourne institution.

This new, sharp bar & jazz club at 14 Goldie Place is simply the best in Australia! From the moment you walk in, you'll be taken back to the sleek, sassy, 'Speak Easy' era of the 20s & 30s, where style, class and discernment prevailed! The bar staff are super welcoming & attentive to your 'whisk me away, help me relax & smile' needs. Plus, the brilliant bands are of the highest jazzy, swingin' & bluesy calibre you'll ever hear! I've been many times, interacted with the super bands (see my pics of the swingin' 'Shuffle Club' & 'Jackson 4'). Compliments overflow from all of them & I as we enjoy a drink during band breaks, re Jasper's ambiance, service, quality of furnishings, brilliant in-house piano & drum kit, amazing cocktail list, 'straight up' bar options (love a super gin or single malt) and the matching food offerings. Wow! What a package of delightfulness!!

Great speakeasy vibe, the perfect dark bar where many a plot or intrigue will be hatched. Like most of the best bars in Melbourne, Jaspers is neatly tucked away in one of those laneways "that's around here somewhere!". Excellent spirits selection and knowledgeable staff who have a ready recommendation for any mood.

A very stylish jazz bar and cabaret format. A chic bar adjoining a cabaret room with small tables and comfortable lounge chairs with a lovely intimate atmosphere. Attentive service. Sit back and soak up the live jazz music with the band right there in front of you. Whilst the bar bustles the cabaret room is nicely spaced so you don't feel cramped in. They nice food too which you can have while the band is playing. Nice place to take that special someone.
