Cure Bar & Eatery

A seriously good experience so I hope more people discover this place. The owner/chef helped us to choose the 5 course degustation for $45pp. We left holding our full bellies. I never knew Brussels Sprouts could be this tasty. Lightly crisped in a sake and miso glaze, we gladly ate all our vegetables because they were that good! The Garlic Prawns were sweet and juicy, followed by a delicious but chewy Mushroom and Black Truffle Risotto. The Pork Ribs won the highlight of the meal - just right in flavour, texture and quantity. The Chocolate Mousse capped off what was a very satisfying dinner. Cozy little booths make this place a great spot for dinner or drinks. Each course of the degustation menu could be paired with the appropriate wine. We were the only diners so it would have been good to see more people and add to the atmosphere. The owner was helpful and friendly throughout. Highly recommended place to anyone who enjoys tapas style sharing dishes.

This place is perfect. I showed up with a group of 6 on an early Saturday night (about 9pm), and there was nobody else at the bar, despite this place being Australia famous. The bartender came and sat by our table and walked us through the menu, listening to our preferences and being perfectly patient when we took forever to decide. The whiskeys are served in proper nosing glasses, and there were some fun old board games at the back which we grabbed to play at the table (Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble and some others). Quiet, just the right mood, and during the two solid hours that we spent there we didn't see too many people come in. I would definitely come back here, one of the top bars I've been to in Melbourne.

After being frustratingly turned away from multiple restaurants and bars due to capacity on a warm Saturday night, my girlfriend and I finally came across cure at about 9:30pm (kitchen closed at 10). Worried that it was getting late for dinner, the bartender sat us at our table and casually talked us through the menu. The food was brilliant, and the customer service was so spot on that we felt inclined to tip (something we don't often do). Cure really turned the night around for us.
