The Great Griddler

We went for my mums 70th birthday for Sunday lunch. It was 6 adults and 2 children aged 1.5 and 2.5 years. Nothing was to much trouble, the table was arranged. We were able to decorate the table. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely. The 3 course Sunday lunch is great value for money and the chefs offer fantastic food that they obviously took a lot of pride in. The starters were beautiful, tasty and timely. Sunday lunch was fabulous and the Yorkshire puddings were out of this world. Desserts - well, win win all round. Thank you for making my mums 70th family meal very special and you are all amazing from front of house the the amazingly dedicated professionals in the kitchen ❤️

Took 92 year old mum who is gluten free. Booked on line and said she was gluten free - the staff greeted us and mentioned it straight away. Separate gluten free menu and a member of staff double checked it. Each time mum was served with anything they confirmed without asking that it was. All done in a respectful manner, very attentive and friendly staff. The atmosphere friendly and very tastefully decorated. Not cheap but great 2 course deal. A great discovery will be visiting again. Went for work lunch, food was exceptional, the menu was reasonably priced, I particularly liked that they had distinct evening and lunch menus and I thought the portions were spot on. Drinks were served at the table on the occasion that I visited which is nice when you're out for a social function and don't have to spend long periods of time at the bar

Called in today for an opportune lunch for my wife's birthday. We were not disappointed. Friendly service, extremely clean and well presented dining area. Although the place became rather busy whilst we were there, the staff did not falter and kept a calm, efficient and pleasant attitude to all guests. It was our first visit to The Wellington and won't be out last

Lovely interior and design which makes this place seem both spacious and cosy. Dog friendly with plenty of car parking.While the majority of the staff had good customer service skills,one member of the bar team was quite ignorant in his approach to serving us which let down an otherwise great visit.Only had a drink this time but the menu looked good and the prices were moderate so if I'm looking for a place to eat I'd go back another time.
