Wow.This place was recommended to me and it is excellent.
By far the cheapest price for Chips I have found in Manchester and outskirts of city centre.My ultimate go to when in the city centre.Would give it 10 stars if I could.

Rowntree's is a lovely, homely greasy spoon, with a good atmosphere, it just reminded of us home in Northern Ireland. We went for breakfast one morning & got the large breakfast & ended up going back the next morning as its so nice & great grub for your money! The staff are so friendly & nice to talk to, thank you Rowntree's, we loved you! 😊

Loverly little cafe staff work really hard very good food an portions like the meat pie an chips or fish and chips lots of gravy with veg prices good quality good nice an tasty never had a bad breakfast or dinner quick service clean and tidy quite busy when went in it calmed down they do a takeaway service too which I haven't used that's always quite busy but like too sit in think this has been in the arndale for years just using it a little more often when in town shopping or in the arndale

Popped in for brunch. Big breakfast and large brunch ( friends loves chips). Great portions, really tasty. Nice milky coffee. Good prices too. Busy when we popped in at 12:30, but still got a table ok. Also do homemade pies (chicken and leek, chicken and mushroom, cheese and onion etc) lunchtime specials etc. Ladies who work there are lovely and friendly. Great place for a quick bite, coffee and cake, breakfast, lunch etc.

Perfect! In an area where there are bars, pubs and fancy coffee shops around every corner, Rowntree does what it says on the tin and is a proper cafe. Very reasonable prices, good portions and also do takeaways.

What an excellent little cafe as part of the arndale centre.the food is amazing and the portions are quite large making it value for money.the menu isn't large but there's still plenty of choice.it also offers takeout.the service is quick and friendly.the location is good as part of the arndale making it close to the shops, carparks and public transport.

I can't count the number of times I have eaten here and I always have the full english. The place is small and clean with most customers being in the 60+ category who come for the lunch specials. Being in the Arndale it's a good stop off to fill yourself up before burning those calories on laps of the mall. For those watching what they eat they do salads and omelettes with salad or add some chips if your being bad. <br/>Being a greasy spoon most food is fried, drinks are served the same temperature as the surface of the sun and the staff are cheerful and efficient at clearing plates and making you feel it's time to leave not linger.
