Bodacious Barbeque

We ate inside and the staff was very good about answering any questions that we had. I need to make sure that things are not cooked in peanut oil as I am severely allergic and they were knowledgeable about that. I also need to know what type of wood they use for their smoking as I am allergic to Pecan wood. Overall the food was good. Their brisket was dry, and was so fall apart that it was impossible to eat with a fork it just crumbled into pieces. It had a good flavor the texture was just off a little bit. The building was very clean, the bathrooms were clean and the tables didn't have any greasy residue that you find in many barbecue restaurants period for a small town I'd say it's a good place to eat, but if we were in an area where I could choose a Rudy's, or a pokey Joe's I would definitely go there first. Will make sure to try them one more time before I make a final decision. Their prices were a little bit High a plate with one meat and sides, and a brisket sandwich come up with two sodas was $20. That seemed a bit pricey for what we received. Overall the staff was great and the facility was nice the food was just meh.

Baby back ribs are AWESOME, they've got a drive thru so you don't have to get out... Nice and clean eating area if you do decide to dine-in though! Only thing I can say bad about em is their sides are a liiiittle lackin. And it's truly not that THEIR sides are lacking, just that Lufkin BBQ's beans and potato salad are better lol 🤷‍♂️

Got chased out of this place by the cashier..... Never have I been to a buffet-style restaurant where the cashier felt as if you had them a tip at times if the food was absolutely spectacular you give them a compliment, this time we were actually accosted outside by the cashier requesting a tip in order to avoid any confrontation tipped her $20 and left. Never in 49 years on this planet have I ever had a cashier requested tip and never has one followed me out to the car to confront me about not leaving a tip especially in a buffet-style restaurant.

I'm willing to bet Roland Lindsey(founder) has never eaten here! I grew up in Longview, Tx., eating at the original location on Mobberly Ave. and this location is a disappointment. The staff was great and service was excellent. The product however, was horrible. I have no idea what these other reviewers have eaten here to rate this 5 stars. I've eaten at several locations throughout East Texas and at least there was some consistency in flavor and product quality. The ribs were pre-sliced and had no smoke flavor. They tasted and looked as if they were finished off in an oven and the sausage tasted like cotto salami. Bbq can be regional to tastes.I get that. I compete... in sanctioned/non-sanctioned events as a hobby. But for a restaurant, this was like someone's backyard experiment gone wrong. Did I mention the staff was great?!
