Manhattan

Incredibly knowledgeable service members, really friendly staff, and an owner that loves his business and staff and customers. The food is delicious, the cook(s) get orders perfect, and the presentation is delightful. The ambiance is nice and romantic, yet works well for friendly dinners and/or work meetings. I've never been dissatisfied with anything or anyone from Manhattan, and I highly recommend them.

I was so excited to host my graduation dinner here… Little did I know, Outback would’ve been a far better option. We spent a lot of money here, feeding five people is not cheap here. Our food was awful. The chef could not cook a steak to save his life. I ordered a rare prime rib, I received a well done one. I hate sending food back but this was too expensive to not get a correction. Two other steaks were sent back for the same issue, incorrect temperature. The second round of corrected steaks had obviously been washed and re coated with spice. This spice was so hot, not like the mild spice on the first steaks, that my mother and I could not eat them. We just wanted a meal we could eat at that point. The chef came and talked to our table and made excuses about the cut of meat, never apologized or acknowledged the mistake. I don’t really know why he even came to our table. Management acknowledged how bad the steaks were cooked but offered no real resolution, only excuses. The whole experience was a very expensive mistake. If you have a special event, I would not book here. Way too expensive for a steak that wouldn’t pass outback’s quality check.

Not a place I'll be running back to. The food was "okay", service was good, but none of it was "fine dining". Decor and design is VERY dated and cluttered, bar selection is very limited. COVID can be blamed for some things, I'm sure, but frozen food should NEVER be included in anything being called fine dining. The salad was the only thing I had that had not been frozen. The experience was friendly but also disappointing since Lufkin could use some true fine dining.

We love coming to The Manhattan whenever we are in the area! It started Valentine's Day 2018! We enjoy the classy atmosphere. The food is wonderful. We have always enjoyed our selections! The owner comes around and greets every table. He is a true host. The wait staff are very professional. If you want a romantic dinner or a celebration, this is the place!
