Bodacious Bar-b-q

We flew 240 miles to come eat here because it’s that good. I’ve eaten here many times in the past when traveling for work and decided to fly in this most recent visit for pleasure. The food was excellent as always. I got a 3-meat plate that came with 2 sides, plus free beans. They also have onions, pickles, etc… out for customers as well. The portions are HUGE and the food was even better than I’d remembered. The staff was friendly and the dining area was very clean.

Their brisket is amazing! Their BBQ sauce is so good, I felt like drinking it. This easily competes with and beats the big BBQ places around DFW. Not only in taste but value as well. We will definitely be making the 2 hour drive to come back. Added bonus, if you are taking some to go they vacuum seal it!

Update… Getting better..from 3⭐️Not the same “pit master” as “seen on Tv” It’s hard to be the best in Texas. The old pit master married the original owners daughter and had award winning BBQ. The new “pit dude” didn’t get the full recipes apparently and the seasoning is funky on the brisket. Definitely wouldn’t fly 100’s of miles to this place to eat anymore…. you know something has changed if you can walk right up to the cash register and not wait in line 20 minutes to get in the door.. 7-1-22 UPDATE Getting better!

Another Texas Monthly joint down. I’m now at 20 places out of the 50. This one definitely lived up to the hype of the #4 ranked place in Texas. The brisket was so succulent. The sausage had a sweetness to it. Almost like a breakfast sausage. The Dr. Pepper Pork Belly Burnt ends we’re amazing and could have been a dessert on its on with how sweet it was. The turkey was moist. My only disappointment was finding out they no longer serve the Toffee Bacon Candy. It left when Scott left. Sad day. Bodacious (specifically this one) is worth going to.
