Ivanhoe Hotel

Great for kids with the play area. The food is really top notch, tastes fantastic and is well presented. The only thing that is disappointing is that the dining area doesn't open until 5pm, so getting there earlier and settling in with young kids so they can have a play before dinner is delayed. Otherwise great, relaxing, easy and the staff are wonderful.

Pub food on a busy Australia Day, definitely wasn't looking forward to it. What a pleasant surprise, the food warrants 3 stars, impressed too that not ordered together it all came out at the same time. I gave it an extra star for atmosphere (child friendly with playroom and face painter available) and very pleasant staff. Such a change from backpacker service, these 'kids' aren't hospitality professionals but they make up for it in politeness and attentiveness. Anyone says 'pub food' to me again, this is my place of choice!!

I have lived nearby for a total of about 2 years now and ventured in to the hotel for the first time on the weekend. Fantastic food, I had the roast beef, the serving was huge with a massive volume of fresh vegetables. The staff are enthusiastic and always willing to help. Upon leaving I said to my partner 'we need to come here more often'!
