Bob Evans

While traveling we started getting hungry so we decided to stop at Bob Evans. We were seated at a table that had some food on the floor under one chair, probably a young child seated there before me, so I just sat in the other one closer to the wall. Ordered a couple of breakfasts off the menu. Eggs, sausage patties, French toast and pancakes. I also tried the strawberry purée and orange juice. Food was good, waitress was friendly, our order took a while longer then I hoped but not unreasonably long. The restaurant was mildly busy. If I was traveling through I would probably stop again. I would order just plain orange juice though. Didn’t think the price was worth it for the combination fruit drink.

The FINAL straw tonight. I called to place a carry out order for my son & was put on hold (as usual) but this time they completely forgot about me. I walked in with my phone in hand when they asked if I placed a carry out order & I showed her my phone & told her that I was still on hold to place an order. She apologized & took my order. After waiting another 20+ minutes for my order & asking about it with 3 different people (because they obviously didn’t have it together) my order was on top waiting. Of course, the extra rolls I ordered weren’t in there. I know everyone is short-handed but some places just don’t care about the customer at all anymore! Chick-fil-a gives you an apology for your wait & a free cookie. Bob Evans acts like you don’t matter & never offer anything when “they” screw up! Done with this Bob Evans!!

Jill is our favorite server and we're there almost every weekend to have some breakfast. The restaurant is always clean, staff is always friendly, and management is always on top of any issue... which is rare. Store manager, Steve isn't afraid to get his hands dirty either, which is why we love this store over others. Not saying other store managers don't do the same; however, Steve does not hesitate to grab a mop, broom, rag, spatula, bus tub, or whatever else is needed to help out. Different restaurant managers, and it doesn't matter the brand name, only really touch the tables and check to see if everything is good with the service and the food... Steve does it all and no job is beneath him. He runs the Teays Valley location like a family and it shows. As I am a retired military service member of 21 yrs, I can value a leader leading from the front and not asking your employees to do anything you yourself are not willing to do. We will continue to keep our weekend plans with Jill until she quits or we move. Lol.
