My family decided to try Steak escape for the first time ever after seeing it often in town. We placed our order over the phone for two sandwiches and some loaded fries. I initially wanted a healthy choice bowl but was a little bit sad when we were told that the online menu does not match what is made in store. No big deal, we were really hungry and just excited to eat. It was ready very quickly and I went inside to pay. That is where things went south for me. The eating area was empty but looked like a decent place to dine in. I went up for the register and was waiting for the cashier. I noticed that the floors, walls, sinks, stoves and literally everything behind the counter looked very dirty! There was food, grease and grime everywhere I looked up at the ceiling and it was also filthy. I am not super picky at these types of places but I know for sure there has to be a roach infestation with a kitchen that dirty! The condition of the place made me worried about the cleanliness of the food preparation. I paid anyways and went back to my car and looked at google reviews, I saw two other posts mentioning roaches. So although I did not see one, I was not surprised others did. We didn’t even taste the food and tossed it in the trash. Won’t be returning to this place unless it goes through some major cleaning!

I have eaten at this steak escape many times over the years but the last 2 times visiting this store the proportion of steak used is getting to be less and less each time ! You get alot of bread and very little of anything else for a big price! I don't mind paying for a good sandwich as long as their not stingy with the ingredients!

I wish I could give a negative score. The website said they take online orders, so I called and was asked to hold. I don’t have a problem with waiting, but I was kept on hold for 20 minutes without anyone even checking on me. I could hear everything happening. The “supposed” owner called me to let me know that no restaurant takes phone orders as a priority. I informed him that a business should not advertise a service they could not render. I also let him know that it’s no excuse for bad customer service. FYI, every restaurant in Hernando that have I placed an order with has been excellent: Mr. Chen’s Kitchen, Brick Oven, Buon Cibo, Yellowfin, Mi Pueblo. It’s not every restaurant. It’s a Steak Escape problem. There was no abusive language, just an unprofessional staff that simply cannot say that they’re “too busy” to take orders currently, keep people on the phone forever, and don’t apologize for their abusive treatment of decent people simply trying to patronize a business full of patronizing people. I encourage the owner to read the other low score reviews. These people have similar stories to mine. Good try though

Service and food is great but the working conditions for the employees is poor.. It had to have been 80°+ in there without the grill on. The owner really needs to get this resolved before they have heat exhaustion or heat stroke..

I never leave bad reviews but feel I should this time. I ordered through Bite Squad. I tried ordering last night and was charged. I then get a phone call from bite squad and was Steak Escape was not taking anymore orders. This was at 7:30pm. So I got a credit and called earlier tonight. When I got my order I had a cold Melted Italian that only had meat and not much of that. The bread had not been warmed, It had no cheese or well…anything. I ordered the fries and I honestly did not even have half an order. It does no good to call to complain or try to have your order righted, because they do not answer the phone. It’s a shame because when you go in person it is really good. I don’t know what the trouble is with delivery orders. This was no fault of Bite Squad.

The food is good, but what I really like are the french fries. Nicely cut, skin on and not too much salt. I think its a little pricey, especially when you're ordering meals... but still better than Subway 😅

This store is run by a bunch of kids and unfortunately it shows. I thought at first maybe I should give them more than one chance... but after 2, 3 and 4 I think I'm going to have to forgo one of my families favorite sandwich shops. I live 20 minutes away... that's no short trip. On more than one occasion I have attempted to phone ahead for my order, each time I am left on hold, sometimes for 20.minutss and then hung up on at the end of it. When I attempt to call back.... the phone is off the hook. I know this to be true because when I finally do arrive at the store it's evident and the phone, laying face up on the counter top right next to the register reflects the same! This time I walked into the store (which had only 4 people sitting 2 each to 2 different table) and asked the young kid roaming around if he was aware his phone was off the hook. 'Oh yeah' was the reply I got followed by an 'our bad'. Your bad? I sat on hold for 17.5 minutes and then was hung up on and when I call back your line is busy for 20 minutes? How much business do you think that is costing you all? 'Well we have to serve the guest in the store first' .... WHAT GUESTS???? And as though to top it off when I make the ride back home 20 minutes later I discover that my order IS WRONG! IVE HAD IT TO THE EYEBALLS WITH HERNANDO STEAK ESCAPE AND THEIR LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DESIRE TO EMPLOY INDIVIDUALS WHO SHOW HALFWAY DECENT REGARD FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HELP FUND THEIR PAYCHECKS!
