El Capitan Restaurant

Plenty of truck parking on the east side of the hotel. No engine idling over 15 minutes. The food here is generally good, I'm normally here for breakfast which is served all day. I'm not sure what their hours are. The restaurant may be a bit smoky, depending on how busy the counter is in the casino, which is located right next to the restaurant entrance. Very weird place. The place was totally empty and the waitress made us make a reservation! Then once we were seated and took off our masks she told us that we are only allowed to take off the masks while putting food into our mouths. Place is crazy the waitress was crazy and we took off without ordering.

I was traveling though the Hawthorne, Nv. area on my way back to Arizona and spent the night at the Travelodge hotel next door to the El Capitan restaurant. It was pretty busy and I sat at the counter and my waitress came right over and got my order and in no time my food was out of the kitchen. Everything really tasted good and I was very happy with the speed and quality of the service and the food. It’s a bit of a time machine to a time gone by with counter service, but I really liked that! If you’re staying the Hawthorne area, you should check out the El Capitan.
