Tokyo Joe's

I have ordered from here 3 times. (2 of them being pickup/delivery) 2 of these 3 times they have forgotten the sauce on my build a bowl meal. I am giving 3 stars because when you are dining in the service is still very enjoyable. The food is hot and served with everything you ordered being present. It is just the to-go/delivery that you seem to get the short end of the service stick. This restaurant has good food, and good potential. But for now I would recommend dine in only if you want a good solid meal.

UPDATE September 2021: Quick dinner. Good service. Pricing still reasonable. Similar to a cross between a poke bar and a Genghis Grill, Tokyo Joe's has a nice setup where you can either order from entrees or build one off their various choices. I opted for a poke bowl with brown rice and toppings such as fried jalapenos, cucumbers, pickled vegetables, and a few other sauces. Portion size was fair for the $12 or so. Flavors were very good as were the ingredients. Staff was friendly and stayed on top of keeping the tables clean and sanitized. Definitely going to be back to try some of their other selections.

If you order a retail sauce here that is meant to be in a glass jar and sealed they will try and give you any entire rice container full of sauce that they just filled from the line. This is bad for many reasons, your health included. How long has the sauce been open on the line? Do they keep sauce there for days and chill it (it comes cold)? This is not safe and I bought a retail sauce to give to someone and I cannot give them a rice container full of sauce.

This was the first time I have eaten at Tokyo Joe's, and I must say wow. Ok, so i must disclose that i have a serious shellfish allergy so I have to stay away from seafood just to be safe. The staff took their time to show me how the menu works and they even took the time to explain a number of things. Any ways I order a stake bowl with vegetables, teriyaki and green dragon sauce. Man was it good. The dragon sauce may be spicy for some people so if you get it, ask for it on the side. I will be returning for more of that green dragon sauce..
