1st time here. It was very delicious but pricey. The steaks were cooked to perfection 😊 The apple wood bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers were the bomb!!! Great wine menu

Nice little place. Great wine list. Food was delicious and service was excellent! The seared tuna salad was delicious with the wasabi ranch dressing. I got the dressing on the side as it can be quite spicy. Hubby had a steak and said it was good but, not as good as mine 😁 I'm sure he was joking but, I do grill a mean steak...

I just enjoyed the most delicious steak the other night at Badlands. The marbling gave each bite a wonderful flavor and texture. I had only ordered the Badlands Sirloin, but the quality of the meat is what makes it fantastic. The garlic mashed potatoes are very good, though perhaps they could be benefited by depth beyond a good deal of garlic. The salad is, as expected, not what draws you to a restaurant like this, but of a good size. Though I wasn't able to stay for dessert at my last visit, the desserts I have had are a fine selection to finish off the meal. Creme brulee is a favorite of mine on the menu. Walking in after 7pm it was still bright enough outside that it took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the lighting as they keep it fairly dim in the restaurant. The furnishings aren't anything fancy, but there is an impressive fireplace toward the back that you'll want to watch the children by as they go to the restroom. The classic setting of old-time steakhouse is fairly well maintained throughout. I'd love to eat here regularly, but with that fantastic taste comes a fantastic cost. While many a steakhouse has prices to exceed those at Badlands Grill, the cost of admission for fine dining in Gallup is along the same lines and will likely exceed that of most restaurants in the area. This, of course, is fitting as it comes with a taste to match, so it will remain the place I go for very special occasions.

We spent the night in Gallup and had dinner at the Badlands. It smelled so good when we walked in and the table cloths reminded me of dining at the Officer's Club when I was a kid living on a military base. Definitely brought back some memories. We both ordered hamburgers and I'm pretty sure these were the best burgers that I have ever had. The salad was good too. Our waitress was very pleasant. My only regret is that I wish were staying another night so that I could try one of their steaks. Excellent place to have a good relaxing dinner.

True 5-Star Experience: not only was the staff timely and attentive, they were kind. Portion sizes are perfect (very filling). We started with the complimentary bread and sweet fluffy butter. Ordered mozzarella sticks, bacon burger with bleu cheese and mild green chiles, burger (no cheese) with mild chiles, french fries, sweet potato fries, & seasonal veggie mix. The meals came with soup or salad, so we got both! Salad was full of healthy choices (kale, fresh lettuce, brussel sprouts, tomato, cucumber...). Tried a green chile filet mignon soup--wowza YUM! Burgers were cooked perfectly (the bleu cheese was awesome!!), fries were hot and tasty. And of course, a light yet dense chocolate cake to top it off. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing by. There is also a banquet room available. Thank you to JR, Desiree, and the other staff members.

Had a simple 8oz steak with garlic mashed potatoes. Very good. Wait staff was very attentive. My glass was not allowed to go dry. Other people in my group enjoyed their meals as well. Prices are a little high but the food will not disappoint.

I've eaten here twice. The first time with my family everything was fine and service was nice. Local music was fun and entertaining. The food was great as well The second time, the food took a while to make, which isn't a problem for me, they were pretty busy. But the waitress was very uninterested, and was pretty rude to me and my girlfriend. The part that really ticked us both off was that we would a fly in the salad, and showed our waitress. All she did was laugh at us and told us "that sucks" and walked away. She didn't offer another salad, didn't apologize, all she did was laugh and continue to be rude later on. The place itself is way to expensive to have me and my girlfriend be treated the way we were

I had the dry aged NY Strip and it was great. The only thing that topped it was the service. Our server was wonderful - prompt and courteous service. Beers are very reasonably priced at $3.50 and the kids meals were $7. Another bonus was the homemade pasta...totally unexpected but it was very good.
