Puffing Billy

On a cycle ride and came across this pub. Originally stopped for a drink but seeing the menu decided to have a light lunch. We had the trout and crayfish cocktail which was absolutely delicious plus chunky chips. Sat outside because the weather was too good to sit inside, therefore didn't experience the atmosphere. I would recommend.

A fairly cosy pub seemingly in the middle of nowhere until you attend a wedding function and have your disco turned down and all the windows shut and are constantly being told to quieten down at 10pm. 🙄 The food was ok mass catering is hard but it was a small wedding and they seemed to manage it ok. The bar staff lacked knowledge, there were long waits for food and drink but not the worst I've had. The atmosphere at the wedding was great (prior to being told to sush). When we could flow in and out it was quite lovely but once we were all shut it it wasn't at all pleasant truthfully. The food took three table leaving all the guests (maybe like 40+ only three tables to sit at 8 to a table so lots of people standing and left little room for dance floor. I think if they can't really cater for weddings they shouldn't advertise as doing so.
