Major Plaice

The major plaice is a very good fish and chip shop 2 either eat in or take away good food and staff however because of shop's location you have to be very careful of road traffic entering the public footway at a pedestrian traffic light which you have mopeds entering from one side not obeying traffic signals and motor vehicles leaving the footway on the opposite side from a kebab shop the opposite side of the road on the crossing again in a dangerous place & way while you are trying to cross safely but don't worry the local councils know about the problem and allow them to carry on while they sit on their arse at home doing nothing

Thursday 19th August 2020 my wife and I had a very nice fish and chip meal in the Major Plaice. Coming up from Bournemouth where fish and chip shops are like a major food chain, I found that the fish had a golden colour batter and the chips light and tasty. Served that day by the owner who is a friendly guy. One of the best meals and I can recommend it.

I’ve lived in Epsom for 4 years and I have never found a fish & chip shop that I would 💯 give my recommendation too, due to being soggy and wet, etc. BUT I’m happy to say this place is amazing, crispy batter, and tasty food 💯 will never be going to anywhere else. The Major Plaice is the best in Epsom

On Tuesdays to Thursday in the actual restaurant and over the phone (not on uber eats) they do a selection of thai food. It's great! Real amazing hidden gem and the owner and chef really knows his food! Not what you'd expect from fish and chips. Been walking away with curries, fantastic duck spring rolls, calamari. Great!
