El Puerto

Located in downtown Edmonds, this little Mexican spot was just so so. Very nice waiter. The decor is old and dated and the restaurant was empty. The menu had a million items to choose from so it was a little overwhelming. I ordered the number 29. The chicken enchilada was dry, although it was covered in cheese. The chili relleno was cooked in an egg batter and packed flavor. The deluxe burrito was so so but thier salsa is spicy and delicious. Not the best bang for your buck, so I wouldn't return.

On a Friday in February at 11:45 am, the restaurant was empty except for one other table. After I got my food, I realized why! First of all, the chips were stale, the salsa was absolutely terrible ... very heavy on the Mexican oregano and watery! I ordered a chicken enchilada and chicken taco which were served with rice and refried beans. It was absolutely the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life. I would need a full page to describe how horrible it was. Of course, I will never go back again.

Where do I even begin with this place... THE worst experience I have ever had. First of all the salsa is gross, too spicy for me so when asked if they had anything milder they brought me out enchilada sauce, and no they do not have queso cheese dip but they'll tell you they do by microwaving shredded nacho cheese. When filling my water which was only done once, it was completely warm. They took forever even addressing that we were even there so when our orders were finally placed, the man who took the order which ended up being the manager had a major attitude and kept interrupting and acting like he was annoyed and we were such a bother to him. Ordered a margarita which tasted like there was absolutely no alcohol in it, which another review had mentioned too. And it was $10!!! I got a fajita and my tortillas were cold, and when I ordered some more I got charged for them. Plus the food is nothing special, quite gross in fact. Anyways.... at the end of the meal I addressed the manager that I already knew was a complete a-hole and tried to respectively explain all of these things to him and adding that we got terrible service, and he argued with me and flat out told me that that's how things are done there and there's nothing I can do about it but pay my bill. I also mentioned that I didn't appreciate the treatment I was receiving from him and he said GOOD! I've never felt so utterly disrespected in my life and I was in complete shock that it was coming from the manager, probably owner of the place. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The prices are outrageous for how mediocre it is and all they're trying to do is scam you. Take your time and money elsewhere.

For Mexican food, the dishes my girlfriend and I had were surprisingly underseasoned. Or just... Not seasoned. Tostada was 90% just straight up lettuce, and the prices were wayyyy overpriced for the quality of the food. I would have still given this place 2 stars, but we waited about 10 minutes for our waiter to bring us his check, and he was just standing at a podium on his phone. No one else was in the restaurant. EXTREMELY unprofessional. Never coming back and would recommend people STAY AWAY!!

Been going here since I was a kid, food and service never waver, and the owner treats you like family. Order literally anything, you cant go wrong. Salsa is naturally spicy, and leaves you craving more, even after the meal. Top self drinks, and too many fajitas choices to list, if you're in Edmonds, this is the place to eat.

So, I rarely rate anything. But this mexican restaurant may have been the worst I have ever had. Decor and cleanliness were bad. Food was was horrible. Dry or canned meats in all the food. I had a shredded beef chimichanga and chicken chimichanga. Both were bad and I couldn't even finish the chicken one. We ordered a margarita and it never came. All in all, a one star review is being generous.

Been going here since I was in a high chair. Ramone is an amazing owner and an amazing human being. Always happy to see us, I proposed here and had my rehearsal dinner here. They rented out the place to us and made up a private menu. They go above and beyond and sincerely care about each of their customers. This is where I first fell in love with mole, nobody does it better. My family and I are customers for life
