Dover Fish Bar

This place is a real gem. Had a birthday meal here for my wife and the food was lovely. Great menu with traditional Italian dishes plus a few modern twists. Beautifully presented. It's so reasonably priced for such nice food. The service is excellent. The waitress was very polite and attentive and the chef/owner was really friendly and quite a character! Good selection of wine. Nice clean, cosy atmosphere and decor. Especially nice to sit upstairs in the mezzanine for a quieter, more intimate dinner for two.! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Took my mother here for her 75th birthday today and overall the experience was pleasant but there's a few things which I think could be improved. Chips were rock hard for my mains (mixed grill) and despite all three of us ordering meat, we had no steak knives and found it incredibly hard to cut the meat. My father is not one to make a fuss and his order of a medium came out rare on one side and well done on the other side, but did say he enjoyed it to the chef. The head chef was very pleasant and clearly loves his trade, but the rock hard chips were a bit off putting. Overall I'm sure I'll return, but make sure you ask specifically for steak knifes if you're having meat!

Wonderful dining experience. Outstanding food and great staff is always a winning combination. They were really busy but didn’t let that affect the service. Besides the fact we are a family of 4 with 3 different food allergies. Including Coeliac, dairy and egg. They catered for us without any fuss. The food was delicious. All staff were well mannered, polite, very efficient and easy to approach. We felt very well looked after and definitely one of the best meals We’ve had in ages. Thanks again to all the staff.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional! The restaurant owner (also the main chef) came out to talk to us and was very friendly, chatty and helpful even providing directions to the White Cliffs. The restaurant is very nicely decorated with some amazing wall paintings commissioned by the owner. Definitely would be a regular here if we lived in Dover! Thoroughly recommend it!

The restaurant is very well decorated, classic Italian style. Very friendly waiter, willing to explain the dishes and the wine, very knowledgeable. Pasta is nice, sauce with good flavouring with the swordfish dice. Gamberoni is well pan fried with full of garlic, butter, basil flavour, house wine is fine.
