Food is basic, but doesnt need to be anything else, a good choice for children, tables in and outside. Friendly staff.

Since writing the original review below, the café has taken ownership of a proper coffee machine. Much improved, couldn't be happier. Staff and cake still lovely.
I've been visiting this cafe for as long as I can remember and although the decor has has an overhaul, the council are missing a trick. The coffee here is from an old style drinks machine, made with uht milk. It doesn't even taste of coffee, truly vile.
Now, as a dog owner, on a cold, windy, wet day, it's a lovely treat to get warm with a good cuppa and a sticky bun, but the Orangery doesn't deliver. On any given day the park is busy, people that would use it, if the quality was better. This isn't the fault of the staff, just the lack of investment in proper coffee machine that would oay for itself in month. Wake up and smell the coffee DCC

Homemade tray bakes, scones, cookies, carte' dor icecream and bean to cup coffee all very yummy treats.
And best of all they are very dog friendly they have a dog walker discount and allow well behaved dogs inside. 🐶😁

I visited the cafe today for the first time during lockdown. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Snacks and drinks were good value for money and panini was excellent!

I have read other comments and feel they are harsh... menus were attached along the current barriers but they kept being removed.
I love this place - the staff are warm and friendly and are doing an amazing job under the difficult current climate.
As they rent from the local authority I am assuming that they are restricted on what they can do and also it's a listed building.

Visited the cafe on Monday 5th February. It was very interesting place I thought with it being so quiet there must be something wrong. But was We wrong. There was one members of staff think it was the chef that couldn’t do enough for me and my elderly mum. The food was amazing simple but classy. The service was brilliant. We will be recommending this to all my friends and family. Never got chance to get the mans name but thank you for helping me and assisting my mother.

Lovely cafe always a warm friendly welcome. I had a push chair and they helped me with my drink. He also brought us colouring in for the older children which they really enjoyed. There is a good selection of cakes and light snacks. Beautiful in the warmer weather to sit outside.
