Liked: Lovely little site. Pitch was really big though very slightly sloped but it didn’t bother us at all. Great views too and surrounded by horses/sheep/cattle. A real country feel. The pub is great and dogs are allowed. Food was nice and great value for money. Staff were all lovely and could not have been more helpful. It was quite quiet and there was very little noise after dark which was a bonus. We would definitely return to this site. The negatives were mainly due to other campers and not the site owners. Disliked: The outdoor toilet block really needs changed. At one point someone had left a mess on the seat and with only 2 cubicles it meant only one left for everyone to use. There were small children running about the toilets climbing on seats and looking over at each other in the cubicles (not the sites fault). Our dog had an operation wound - we kept her away from other dogs but some were allowed to roam and kept trying to come over to her. Our neighbours dog used our pitch as a loo twice while roaming fee which was annoying, we had to go and ask them to clean up after it.

Absolutely beautiful. Came for lunch had the 3 course speacil. Excellent choice and amazing value. Lovely home cooked food. A big thank you to the young barman that served us. He was brilliant. Very polite and friendly. My cocktail was fabulous. You worked extremely hard. Looked at campsite looked great for holiday makers highly recommended this pub and campsite.

Liked: The play park is perfect for the children. The views were great. We didn't get chance to try the pub food but I heard it was good. Disliked: The toilet and showers were ok but unisex and extremely run down not enough for the size of site. The pitches were amazingly spacious but if your looking for a flat pitch you won't find it here very uneven ground hard to pitch awnings on. I think the price was to high for the pitch considering how poor the facilities were. We had other people's dogs running into our awning loads off leader.

Liked: Location was beautiful with park on site perfect for the kids! Peaceful location. Food in the pub was lovely, especially the Sunday carvery 10/10. Disliked: Only one shower out of the two warmed up, and the toilet facilities could be a little better, wasn't sure about the 2 unisex toilets however they where sufficient. The pub closed during day from 2-6 which was a shame.

Liked: The play area was a big hit with our 5 and 7 year old, the view across the valley was one of my favourite features. Everything was very easy to access, toilets were clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Disliked: The pitch pitch we stayed on was on a slope and for first time caravaners this was tricky to negotiate but we managed.

Liked: Safe play area and amazing views across the valley. Really neat and tidy small site with excellent playground. The carvery on Sunday at the on-site pub was really excellent, catered for vegetarian, gluten free and nut free too! The pitches are spacious with plenty of room for awning and car etc. The wash up area is well equipped and under cover. Plenty of supermarkets nearby and even an excellent soft play within 10 mins. Brilliant location for our needs.

Liked: At the time we went quite site. Disliked: There were not enough showers and only two worked. The campsite was getting full as well towards the end of our stay so would be waiting to use showers unless went early. There could be more toilets as only two toilets near the campsite the other inside the pub which was further away. The toilets could also have a hand dryer in them.

I would absolutely recommend the Sunday carvery! Brilliant quality and a very reasonable price. Roast beef is a very difficult meat to cook right which lets down a lot of other establishment's. Perfectly cooked every time at The Countryman. 👍
