Sizzling Gourmet

This place specializes in "sizzling hot pot" or 麻辣香锅, a type of dry hot pot loaded with ingredients. There are also cold appetizers and stir-fry dishes. To order the sizzling hot pot, you choose 1 protein with the base sauce (spicy, numbing spicy 麻辣, garlic, etc.) and the spicy level for $23.99. All that also come with broccoli, cauliflower, potato and bean sprouts. We ordered lamb with bamboo 莴笋 and spam (additional cost), numbing spicy, and spicy (third from the top) - 3 stars Tho The star of the meal was the Pepper and Eggplant with Preserved Egf 皮蛋 (4.5 stars!) It came in a wooden tub and had such good flavors - highly recommend. Overall, the portion for the sizzling hotpot was big. One protein option was enough for 3-4 people. If you have large group that love spicy food, this place is a good option for get-together. Also, service was surprisingly good for a Chinese restaurant (low standards am I right?!) I actually found this place after watching a youtube video. I had been looking for a place in the bay area for dry pot and was super impressed of the video. The portions were huge for fair prices. They also had other dishes, like vegetables and crawfish. This was during shelter in place so I called in an order of lamb dry pot with napa cabbage and silk noodles. They're in a little lot, so there's parking available. Inside didn't seem open since the doors were closed and all the lights were off, but someone appeared. When I picked up the food, I was thoroughly surprised when they handed me a whole tray of food!! I had to drive back to SF and was worried about the quality, but it made it. The tray kept it warm. It came with so much meat and extras. I am so glad I have found a great dry pot place!! I definitely plan to come again. The portions are HUGE and great for sharing. They have a wide variety of meats available for dry pot and a bunch of other regular dishes available too. The decor inside is really nice as well, not like a run down restaurant. I can't wait to come back again!!

Love love love this place. First time here, didn't really know what to order so the sever suggested his recommendations and spice levels and all that. Came out really good and enjoyable. Next few times I've tried different options and same as last time, delicious. Only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because the lack of cashiers knowledge on properly splitting the tabs with different cards. But still delicious.
