First Watch

Joined my sister for brunch on a mid-morning Friday. The start of our visit was a bit frustrating as there was no parking available - had to park in a nearby shopping center - but when entering the restaurant immediate seating was available both indoors and on the patio. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful as she helped me navigate the menu for allergy friendly options. We each had and omelette, fresh fruit, coffee and a mimosa. The food arrived timely, as ordered and was very satisfying. Even with the single mimosa I felt the price tag was a tad higher than expected. Overall it’s hard to mess up brunch so giving 4 stars for the food and server.

We ordered the morning meditation juice which was phenomenal. We also ordered the truffle mushroom hash, the buttered grits and the market veggie sandwich. The grits came out almost Stone Cold and we had to send them back. The salad accompanying the sandwich had barely any dressing in it, so we had to order that as well. The truffle mushroom hash did not come with the bread, which we had asked for in the beginning. They ran out of the butternut squash bisque and we took some home to warm up. They also ran out of the grits, so ours had to be reheated instead of a new one coming out. I really don't know what has happened to this place. The server, Samuel, was really nice though.

Excellent service. Super friendly wait staff. Very nice ambiance. However, the food is kind of average and extremely expensive. I had an omelette (very good) which came with a side of fresh fruit (just pineapple chunks and lots of grapes), and whole grain toast (not much flavor). I also ordered a side of Hardwood Smoked Bacon (was very fatty and seemed like what I get from Publix) and a coffee. The meal cost me $20.73 before tip. That’s kind of outrageous First Watch.

Food took forever then our food was brought to the wrong table. Server took our food back in and brought it back out to us 20 minutes later. Same plate of food cause it was all like warm/cold. My eggs were hard instead of medium. Server had them remade and they were good but took along time to bring them out and had to take my whole plate to have them redo my whole order. Deflecting and blaming the cooks when we know she brought the same plate out. Husband food was cold but he was too hungry to send it back. Flavor was good when done right but in the end I waited an hour and 10 minutes for a waffle and two pieces of bacon. Manager didn’t care. Thankfully I had a birthday coupon. Sad the service was so bad.

Our server, COLBY, was delightful! Charming, upbeat, “love to serve” attitude, knew menu really well, made great suggestions, kept us up to date on when our food would be coming out, and best of all…made us feel SPECIAL! Food and drinks were good and fun presentation, but COLBY made the experience outstanding!!!
