Fat Spoon Cafe

3/20/22 Arrived after 11:30 AM. The place was nearly full. I ordered a Reuben with sweet potato fries. The fries were good, perfectly fried and not too salty. The Reuben was good and the plate was visually attractive. Service was good. The place was clean and the ambiance was nice for that time of day and style of restaurant. I found the sandwich a little expensive, but my wife tells me I do not understand costs, especially now with inflation so high. All in all a pleasant visit. And my drink glass lasted me the meal. That was nice as I hate dry mouthing food.

Food, service and environment are fantastic! Sat down quickly, ordered and had our food in less than 10 minutes. We came in for breakfast, and had the Fat Spoon Slam with Waffle, Beignet Sticks and Biscuit and Gravy (Side); although we couldn’t eat it all, we tasted it all!! You can tell everything is made with care and love!! Highly recommend.

Hopefully this is not typical. The lady at the door asked us to sit wherever we want. After we sat down, it took more than 10 minutes for anyone to greet us and ask for drink order. This waitress said it wasn't her table but apparently noticed us not being helped and sincerely apologized- that was good. When I got my coffee, I stired it just to find half of a sugar packet. My wife thought it was mine, but I showed her my complete empty packet on the table. Later on, we weren't checked on for a while and had to wait too long for refills. My BLT was good. My wife's eggs, ham, and grits were fine. Her biscuit was generous size but crispy/dry/overcooked on the side. Not sure if this is typical, but maybe some people like this. Overall, I couldn't give more than 3 stars for this visit.
