Shine Cafe

You will take a shine to this beautiful restored house turned cafe serving nothing but made from scratch cooking. Located on Main Street by the library this historic Chestnut house was built in 1927 and completely restored in 2017 by the owners. The history of this home was that a female architect built it and it served as a family home, a boarding house, Tea Shop, bridal shop and now a cafe. Owner and Executive Chef, Leslie Wilson, has not only painstakingly restored this stately home but has greatly invested her time, passion and culinary skills creating some of finest down home cooking with an International flair you will find locally. And don’t be surprised when she personally comes to your table to chat, as she is just as passionate with her customers. One can dine on the front porch, inside the main house with restored wood floors, tongue and groove paneled ceiling and brick fireplace or out back on an open patio that is beautifully landscaped. Sunday brunch was being served with a number of breakfast entrees and quiche, soups, sides and sandwiches. And don’t forget the made in house desserts and cheesecake. Our Breakfast Bowl was a good serving of seasoned chunky potatoes, bacon, stewed tomatoes, choice of egg (ours scrambled) and topped with melted cheddar cheese. Completing the meal was the decadent blueberry custard tart with fresh blueberries and flaky crust. From the hostess to our server everyone greeted us with a smile and Cassie did an outstanding job. While one is waiting, peruse the local art on display and for sale in the entrance and/or throughout the house.

What a cute place! Everyone in the staff was super friendly, they even gave my son a bag of toys to play with. Was pleasantly surprised to see they had live music at 11am on a Saturday. The food was really tasty, delicious coffee and a cute little shop. Gorgeous trees outside and adorable outdoor seating as well. If we are ever in the area again we’ll be back!

Not only is this a friendly cafe with fresh made food, but it is also a gift shop housing art and jewelry, teas and all sorts of treasures from local artists. The setup is beautiful and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The chairs are so adorable and the cloth napkins make you feel fancy. The setting is for comfort and healing for sure with local artwork decor. The food is delicious, the veggies are quality and there are so many options to choose from. The vegan cheese is the best I have had and there are even vegan brownies you definitely do not want to miss. There are homemade items in the front including a simple syrup you definitely want to take home. This place is New Earth approved and a community asset! 🙏💕

Such a nice place!!! Server was so polite and attentive, the cook came out and she was just as welcoming! They have really cool art through the whole place and some yummy teas to buy on your way out! Me and my mom had the She Crab soup and it was the best crab bisque I ever had hands down and I love all the options they have for sides! Will definitely be back so sit at the outdoor area :)

Yesterday was my first time at the Shine Cafe and it was amazing! The food tasted even better than it looked - and I thought they displayed it very nicely. The cafe is in a large renovated house in downtown Conway. We got our own room. This place takes all coronavirus cleaning and distancing seriously. Saw staff cleaning continuously. They have sanitizer for staff and guests to use. As for the meal, I had the best Shrimp & Grits I’d ever tasted. The side salad that came with it had some of the best homemade Ranch Dressing. I tried my friend’s Steak and it was incredible too! I want to come back and try other items. How did I not know about this great place? Will definitely be back. The staff were very attentive. They checked on us several times and ensured our drinks were full. This was an excellent experience.

This quaint cafe was a gold find for my husband and I! It is a restored heritage house located in Conway, S. Carolina on Main Street. It was full when we arrived and had to wait a bit before getting a seat, but the staff and the Owner/Ex. Chef came to talk with us and brought us chairs to use while waiting. The staff and owner Leslie Wilson were so very friendly and we had a good talk with her about the house, the food, and the cafe. Our meals were wonderful. Ingredients are farm fresh and made from scratch. No frozen or pre-made food here! I highly recommend this charming cafe.

Incredible Place! We actually happened upon this gem we found on Google! We met the owner Leslie who truly cares about health and where she sources the food she serves. We got a little lesson in the healthiest greens to eat. I loved her, her food, and her excellent restaurant! We will be back if we are ever in the area! I wish this restaurant was near my home. She should consider offering cooking lessons since she is knowledgable and a wonderful inspiration for eating healthy and delicious food.
