We had a Birthday Party for our 84 Year Old Friend on Thursday, September 2nd at 54 West. The 5 of us sat in a comfortable outside area that made it easy for us to talk and enjoy the Beautiful Atmosphere! We had some Guacamole, Queso, Chips and Salsa for our Appetizer, which we all loved! Our Margarita's, Bloody Mary's, and Paloma's were Top Notch! The Entrées we ordered included Fajitas, Chimichanga's, Burrito's, and even a Vegan Dish! Our Friends stated that they haven't had Mexican Food this good 😋 in Years! When it came time to Sing Happy Birthday to our Friend, Brent our Waiter and Bartender, brought out this Beautiful and Delicious Fried Ice Cream Dessert!! Not only our Table and Brent sang Happy Birthday to Dave, but all the Tables around us did as well!! It was sooo fun, and Dave really got a kick out of it!! Also, the Mural being drawn and painted on the outside Wall of Mojave is Beautiful, which we found out that Crystal, the Manager of Mojave Designed and is Painting it herself!! Now, we need to go back and see the completed Design!! I Highly recommend 54 West and Mojave to anyone looking for Great Food, Drinks, and Atmosphere!!

Came out yesterday on our first warm 80 degree day of the year and was hoping for some fun and drinks, however was greeted rudely and was made to feel like we weren't wanted there. The staff looked as if they didn't want to be there therefore yhe customers suffered the consequences of that. We waited at the bar for 30 minutes without getting any food or drinks. Don't waist your time going there or to Clawson for that matter instead go to royal oak where everyone is welcomed and treated respectfully.

This place has a very cool vibe with lots of couches, dim lighting, and a cool bar in the middle. I also love that it is open air! The food was pretty good. Unfortunately our service was incredibly slow - we waited nearly an hour for a quesadilla and an order of fajitas, and had to repeatedly flag down a server for water refills and our bill.

New to the area and this bar looked like a great spot to get a drink. Lots of outdoor seating with a relaxed atmosphere. We visited on 2 occasions a week apart, but unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience either time. On our first visit, our drinks were accidentally made with salt instead of sugar (ouch…). The margarita batch being made for the next day was in a large tub behind the bar and was clearly visible and open to air, which seemed a little gross as this bar is largely outside. We were there for a couple of hours and it remained this way the whole time. We even asked the staff about it and the response given was “don’t worry, the alcohol will kill everything.” Cringe. The second time we visited was much worse. It was a little bit busier (but still not packed or anything), and the staff appeared very disorganized. Most of them appeared to be socializing or just walking around randomly without an obvious task. Only one or two of the people working there seemed to actually know what was going on. Someone who must work there (?), but was off the clock was VERY intoxicated and going back and forth behind the bar making herself drinks. The other employees clearly noticed, but none of them seemed comfortable asking her to leave, which makes me wonder if she is one of the managers or owners. She almost fell over a few times and then proceeded to make herself another drink. It was an uncomfortable situation to watch. We really wanted to like this bar which is why we tried it a second time despite a lackluster first experience. Unfortunately, after our second visit, we definitely will not be back. I will say, the bartender who waited on us both times was very nice and welcoming, but that’s about the only complement I can give to the service.

Flew in from Arizona to visit with a few friends and we decided to give 54 West a chance. Came in last night and we were pretty worried for it being a Saturday night but we loved the vibes and decided to give it a try even though we might have to wait for a table. Went into Mojave Cantina to meet with a host and was greeted with such positive vibes and she took our name and we waited outside. Thanks to luck (and a party cancellation), we were able to be seated within 15 minutes. We stuck with apps and margaritas and they definitely did not disappoint. I tried their new Mai Tia specialty drink and it was TO DIE FOR. So yummy and the perfect amount of sweetness. One of my friends ordered a Blood Orange Martini and the sweetness of the Martini was just perfect. Super simple recipe but we couldn’t help but order more. We also did a carafe of Black Berry Sangria. So delicious and flavorful we were so happy and satisfied coming to 54 West. Our server, Katlynn was so sweet and attending she made us feel at home there. We sat near the bar and the bartender Brent made the atmosphere so comforting and the music choice was amazing and gave such upbeat vibes. Sad we don’t have a restaurant like this close to us back home! 54 West will definitely we a stop next time we come to Michigan. Amazing service and amazing vibes, can’t wait to come back.
