Barrio

My boyfriend and I were broke and looking for an inexpensive date night. Barrio had a $15 for $30 deal on CincySavers, and I had been wanting to try some Northside tacos anyway. Perfect! We came an hour before close and it was super dark and quiet in the main dining area. I was unsure about things until I walked into the beautiful patio area. Apparently the dinner crowd had just thinned out from a hectic evening and the band had just finished their set. Despite the crowd earlier, it was clean and peaceful and our waitress Emily was awesome! We ordered according to her recommendations - guac and salsa, house margs, caesar salad to share, mushroom burrito for me, and tacos for him. It was all so fresh and delicious! I've had some pretty disappointing mushroom tacos/burritos at other places, but these were perfection - super juicy with a delicious marinade and the burrito was grilled for a crispy melty finish. The margs were just strong enough and not too sweet. Prices are super reasonable even without the discount. Can't wait to go back! I haven't tried the other taco places in northside, but I can say I prefer Barrio's food to Bakersfield any day (and I like Bakersfield a lot).
