What a fantastic traditional pub. Great selection of beers and ciders. Very welcoming staff, a lovely old building, pool table, plenty of outdoor seating and the best priced in all of Chippenham. Would highly recommend popping in for a pint or two and some delicious food. Just a note, I've heard karioke nights can get lively..

It's location is absolutely sublime, surrounded by a combination of buildings both new and old that have this building nestled within it. The drinks are fairly limited in variety but it's to be expected by a lovely local that's on a road side. Having said that I did have a beautiful Thatchers pint, a line within thatchers I've never had before which really hit the spot. It has a lovely and eclectic handful of locals and a pool table to match. And not to mention its massive beer garden. Marvellous place

Nice pub but a little small inside, nice beer garden and plenty of parking. Drinks and food are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly.

Only been a few times but it had that old style pub feel to it. Food is great. A good range of beers ect. Staff are just cracking

As it was on the Cask Marque Ale Trail, on this occasion I was only there for the beer and I can aver, without equivocation, the Otter Elf was in noble condition.
The pub has some history and the landlord can lay claim to a haunting experience - and that's nothing to do with the excellence of his cellar.
With much work done to improve the outside area, on a lovely day (remember those?) the beer garden will be lovely place to sup and munch.

Great proper pub. Chap in the garden doing Elvis impression which I didn't expect on a Sunday afternoon. Really friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. Everyone social distancing so a fantastic session.

Having lost our shed venue, the Pack Horse welcomed the Chippenham Shed members and let us use an area for our Tuesday meetings. Thank you for your support. It's a great place and friendly too.

Great spot but is very much the 'locals scene'. Got plenty of looks for just being there. They had the football playing when we arrived so it was packed and incredibly loud. The garden retreat was well needed and much more pleasant than inside.

This is the best traditional locals pub in Chippenham. Cons bit out the way from town centre. I'm not sports orientated so a bit too sports TV ish at times for my tastes. However they have a juke box that can play separate areas including the big well tended garden. Separate kids playing area. Dog friendly and big car park. Good basic food. A great family safe pub.
