We ordered karaage, tempura, shrimp shumai, and a few robata. Pictured are the chashu braised pork belly, Sakura duroc pork sausage, and beef ribeye robata (from top to bottom) and the shrimp shumai. Everything was great and my favorite was the pork sausage. I look forward to trying more items on the menu.

Delicious and interesting! Walked in on NYE and had warm sake, grilled squid, and ice cream mochi all of which were excellent.
In the background they had weird japanese movies playing and hip hop music, which was a great vibe. May come back to try the japanese whiskey flights

Every single dish we had was delicious. The tsukune (Japanese BBQ homemade chicken meat balls) and the kinoko itame (fresh mushrooms sautéed in buttery ponzu) were our favorites and far exceeded our expectations. 10/10 recommend a try. If you aren’t familiar with Japanese cuisine the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Such a great space- romantic and fun. The food was extremely fresh and delicious. We have the traditional ramen and sashimi salad. Our server Brittany was really helpful and friendly. Highly recommend- especially if you like sake.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the city by far! Best sake list hands down, when it come to price, taste, and the staff is usually amazing. Never had a bad experience, the owners are active and really care about the guest experience. The food is authentic, delicious, and always right. If you haven't been here, I don't know what your problem is. Go there, now. Why aren't you there yet? That's how great they are, and definitely get their cheesecake for desert, I don't eat a lot of sweets but the green tea cheesecake is so amazing. 10/10 would go back, and tell my friends about this place all the time,.

As close to authentic the food may be, I wish the decor matched a little more so make you feel like you stepped into a bar in Japan. Regardless, the sake selection is extensive and the servers are fairly knowledgeable and can make solid recommendations.
Some surprising must get dishes: oil ramen (brothless and spicy) and the marinated dried squid. Reminds me of the snacks you can get in Asian stores!

Went there on Saturday night, got myself a vegan ramen soup, Nikka coffee grain whisky and the wednesday cat beer. The food was too spicy for my liking, the alcohol was just marvelous
The place is usually packed so I suggest making a reservation if you want to get a table unless you don't mind awkward sitting on three high chairs in front of the entrance
The menu is full of authentic food options and this is not going to be your average "choose your meat and your choice of sides" type of meal. The bar has plenty of various import only options
The music is quite and boring however the menu has the correct spelling of pronunciation of the Japanese words, so read it thoroughly if you want to impress your hipster-friends or a waiter
To sum up, the place is good, so there is no way you are not going to like your experience there, enjoy

Had a great experience!
Brian was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuine. Right after we got the menu, Brian was by our table explaining all the parts of the menu. He helped us choose some great food choices, as well as sake options (he knows everything about sake!).
Food was delicious, service was great. Enjoyable experience overall.

Not a bad place to eat. The portion of the food is not big. And the decorations inside is not that "asia" as how the outside looks.

This was delicious. My favorite kind of restaurant. You order small plates and share with your party. Amazing cold, hot and pickled dishes. The stand outs were a cold mushroom dish with sesame and a warm mushroom dish with the mushrooms cooked in butter and ponzu. Loved the baby octopus. Stellar skewer of pork belly (we ordered another after our first! Probably the best pork belly I have ever had. Perfectly cooked.)We tried the yellow tail collar, the seafood pancake and the pickled plums, all of which we loved. It was not a cheap dinner but between 3 we spent about $60 each including one of us getting a bowl of ramen and all of sharing a 6 sake flight of tasting pours. These guys know their stuff and we asked the owner to pick out a variety of sake for us! Such depth and variance amongst them! A true sake 101 class! There is still so much menu we didn't get to try including soft shell crab and many things tempura style. We will be back!
