Cavalier Diner

We have enjoyed breakfast here so many times over the years. Personal favourites for breakfast are the Greek omelet and country ham. I have been known to get the BLT salad with grilled chicken for breakfast as well. Staff is always helpful and the food always good. Their lunch and dinner menus have lots of good choices. We look forward to our next visit.

I'm very sorry but this was bad from jump. We stopped in for some much needed breakfast and coffee. We tried to go to Villa but the wait was too long and we were starving. We saw this place on Google and gave it a shot. Our coffee mugs were so chipped I really didn't want to drink out of them at all. They were bad but not as bad as our plates that were missing literal chunks of porcelain. I was surprised it didn't cut me. And served atop Charlottesvilles finest China, was the thinnest and most over cooked country ham steak I've ever seen. My eggs were undercooked and runny and cold somehow. The hashbrowns looked the noodles one would find in Campbell's soup except they were drowning in fake butter and also cold. All in all I gave them 2 stars because the poor bus guy was working really hard and got me everything I asked for. I hope they just take these comments and try and invest in new plates and spend some more time working with their cooks.

This place is great! Me and 7 friends went here on a sunday after being turned down at several other local restaurants for breakfast. We called ahead and got a table as soon as we got there. There was only 1 waitresss who also handed the register and I assume less then the normal amount of cooks, She never seemed to let to let that bother her. Our food took a little long but with a large party it was to be expected. We couldn't have asked for better service, coffee was refilled without asking and out food was hot and delicious. Thanks again! We will be back.

Wonderful! Best diner we’ve been to in Virginia! Breakfast menu all day, steak and eggs, hash browns, grits, and wonderfully delicious looking sandwiches and salads! The staff was top notch - so friendly and homey and attentive as well! The food was delicious and we will definitely be back! It’s over an hour from home, but any time we are in Charlottesville - we will be back!
