Birdseye Diner

As a cook I can attest that the food is sub par at best. Service was fine but the food was horrid. I had the fried chicken sandwich and fries. And my partner got the muchroom burger. Buns were soft and flimsy. My fries and chicken were clearly over done and it taste like they haven't changed the fryer oil in a while. Then we ordered an apple crumble. It was anything but a crumble. The pie wasn't even cooked fully and then was served ice cold. The only thing they didn't mess up was the milkshake. But honestly it's hard to mess that up.

Not sure what is going on lately but the food and service have been subpar. It appears Birdseye Diner is back to what it was like during COVID. Most recently, I ordered a sandwich for take out and was charged $.75 cents for tomatoes that weren’t even on the sandwich. The grilled chicken salad that I also ordered was also not very good. The lettuce was wilted and the chicken had zero flavor. Only thing that was good was the chips. As I observed further, it appeared that the cooks were confused on the tickets. I even heard one of the line cooks ask the server if the customer wanted the item plain. The server said “I don’t know…maybe. I really have no clue. I got lazy and didn’t feel like writing it all down. Cook it however”. I even noticed some customers were visibility upset that they weren’t getting there food. Normally I am okay with having to pay a bit extra since I get that costs may have gone up. However, when food quality and service go down, it drives locals and visitors to find somewhere else to eat.

Ordered meatloaf. It was gray and drier than death. Gravy only on meatloaf when asked that it be put on potatoes as well & it was super salty. Had to request crackers for my cup of soup. Staff was pleasant but food sucked. Will not go back ever. Have been eating there since I went to college at CSC in the late 80's. Worst experience and it has been going down hill for a while. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
