Draft Republic Carlsbad

Came on a Saturday night where it wasn't too busy and got seated pretty quick. The service was meh (asked the server for beer recommendations and got a "just pick of that menu reply") but the food was pretty good. Pictured are the fish and chips, tuna melt, hangar steak, cheesesteak, tuna tataki and sausage sampler, along with some beer selections. Would come back. Maybe our server was having an off night.

Greetings Googlers, this is my first time at this place and was in awww of the way I entered this place. Lots of TVs to watch sports, the bar had several taps of many craft beers, and arcade games for the family to enjoy. There was a wait but luckily I was alone on this adventure and was able to sit at the bar. I decided to go with their Bam Bam Shrimp to start me off followed with fish and chips. I didn’t get my starter to start me off instead I received both at the same time. I didn’t wait so long which may of been why I didn’t get my starter to begin my dining experience. The Bam Bam shrimp had a little kick that was tolerable for me but the veggie combination at the bottom helped to calm the spice although it wasn’t as delicious as I’d hoped. The chips were on point and came out hot however the fish had too much batter on them cause as I got to the last 2 they started to taste doughy as if they were not cooked completely. The bar staff was very energetic and was great to watch as they worked the bar. I did try their pineapple cider for those who want a beer to try I give that one a thumbs up. Not a bad experience but wished the food measured up to the over all ambiance of the place.

Ok, so who’s been keeping this whole “St. Louis ribs” thing from me all these years? I had no idea if they would taste any different than say…”regular ribs”, but man I was totally digging their smokey flavor and how tender they were. I was also impressed that they don’t just sit in your gut like a brick once you’ve finished (like some meals can). My new “go to” place in San Marcos! The food is fantastic, and the beer list is impressive! Even on a busy Friday night, the service was prompt and courteous, and there was plenty of staff to handle to customer volume. And no more waiting in line to order, as you can place an order from your phone to be delivered to your table. This location has large indoor and outdoor seating options, indoor and outdoor bar service, bowling alley, live music, indoor and outdoor TVs, and arcade and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around. Overall, Draft Republic is a definite upgrade from the previous establishment. Check it out!

A list of beers large enough to impress some of the worlds greatest beer connoisseurs, music was poppin, and the service was off the charts. I sat at the bar and couldn't get my glass empty before the tender was asking if I wanted another. Absolute banger of a place to hang and have a good time. 10/10 recommend.
