Tavernetta

This cozy little house on Edmonton Trail offers the best Italian food in Calgary. Their gnocchi is my favourite! It’s perfect and delicious in every way. Their meatballs and calamari (not deep fried) are also top notch. You can’t go wrong with any menu item. They also have an extensive wine list, local beers, and great cocktails! The best thing about Tavernetta though are the people who work there. They are so friendly, caring, and amazing at what they do! Definitely check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

We had a fantastic evening for a birthday party with over 30 guests. The food and wine was excellent and the gnocchi and meatballs brought out at the very end was a highlight for sure. The owners and staff were fun, friendly and exceptional hosts. A hidden gem, this is a great place to have a large party and I look forward to going back for lunch and dinner.

Love the food, service and ambiance. You feel like you’re going over to a friend’s house for dinner. It’s intimate, warm and inviting. The patio in the back is quaint and romantic with the lights. There’s a cute little bocce court in the back, which is fun. They have a fantastic sparkling rose. Apparently it originally started with a lot of influences from Northern Italy, and have moved South this year with their inspiration. The food we had and would recommend include: - Crostini with olive condimento and beet and beet and eggplant nduja. - Meatballs - Bucatini, ravioli and calebresi - pistachio cookie

Great location right on Edmonton trail before 16av N. Cute house converted into a restaurant. Very cozy. Not great for persons with mobility issues: steps at the entrance and fairly narrow walking spaces inside. You can bring kids but the menu and ambiance is better suited for adult diners. Street parking plus a few parking stalls off the back alley is very convenient. Great looking patio but due to bad weather we sat inside. Summer veggie citrus salad had excellent flavour though I prefer my cucumber crisp vs soft to an almost pickled consistency. Everything else was ok. Calamari was too soft. Fussilli was too hard (and I like al dante pasta). Beef Tartare was pretty good with the crostini but you need to order the bread as an add on. Cannoli looked good but shell was too thick and hard. I could hardly cut through it with a knife. Prob just go back for drinks if I was in the area.
