Thai Tulip Cafe

I'm going straight out there with the Thai Tulip produces the tastiest, healthiest freshest take away in Caerphilly Borough and RCT whilst giving some of Cardiffs too take aways a good run for its money. Since discovering it I've collected 3 take outs in less than a week, every dish spot on. Thai's probably my favourite world quisine having also visited Thailand I've sampled many of the great and less so great take aways The Thai Tulip has managed to capture that essence of Thai food giving bags full of all the major flavour groups (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umamy and my favourite 'hot') all in perfect harmony. Using only fresh ingredients (not all 'authentic' Thai - pak choi-etc possibly difficult to obtain at the moment but apparent replacements) everything is cooked in a clean open kitchen where you can see the preparation. I think they may have toned down a touch of that authentic heat for the locals but are more than happy to boost it up on request. Tonight I had they're crispy pork (with added heat on request) and I can easily say its the nicest dish I've had in a long time, as a chef myself I appreciate the astonishing skill and touch gone into its making. A very simple basic but authentic menu of most of the classics all priced at £7.50 a main (Inc rice) £6.50 at lunch complimented with a hand full of daily/weekly specials. I've now tried about 6 of their mains and intend to go through the menu. The one thing I would raise is the younger staff taking the orders have made small mistakes all 3 times now so please do make sure they repeat your order back. That said was rectified with great customer service and I've enjoyed everything anyway. A great find if you want to curb that lock down waistline whilst still eating delicious food.
