Second time eating here, the first time food was good, the server (owner) was not very nice, I thought I'd give it one more try today, the place always looks empty, walk in, order our food, asked if I could have salsa on the side and not in my taco, the owner acted like I was a nuisance, my friend orders and ask if she can have sour cream on the side, he basically told her no, these are Mexican tacos, not American, we get our food, I have salsa in my taco and my friend didn't get any sour cream, in the mean time the owner was yelling at his one and only staff who works there, if you want to have a successful business you need to please the customer, if I want sour cream or salsa on the side, give it to us! And treat your employees with respect, food is delicious, but the owner needs a wake up call!

I've been reading the negative reviews and there's one common theme - the owner was rude. Some mention bad/rancid food, but the owner's rudeness was the number one complaint. The place has been closed longer than a few of the more recent reviews would indicate, so this review is solely a "for what it's worth" kind of thing. The owner, Margarito, was never rude to me or people with me, and I ate there in both locations (the original deeper in Byron, as well as the old log cabin-like former Bear's Den location). He was friendly and would joke around with us... never had a bad interaction with him or the couple other staff members I met. It's possible something changed since then (this would've been between 2004 and 2010) and he changed, but I just don't think it was likely. Usually when people say in a review that a member of staff of the place being review was rude to them, it's because they themselves were actually rude first -- as evidenced by the one reviewer complaining about not getting her salsa and sour cream "on the side". I recently moved back to the area, and was looking forward to visiting there again. They had the best salsa, hands-down. I've never found a salsa as good as theirs was, and I use to buy it by the pint from them. But by the time I moved back to the area, the restaurant was closed. I liked the place, quite a bit. I'll miss them.

Stopped here after marigold days and waited a long time for service. Finally got drinks ordered and asked for the chips and salsa while we decided what we wanted to eat. We were told those come after you order. the service is terrible and so is the attitude, the owner? Kept asking us what we wanted to eat even when we said we'd like to enjoy the drinks. We decided to not eat here and owner said "sounds good to me" wow for customer service. Went to the bears den and had a great time.

We've been there as a family 9 times in the last 2 years and we have always had exceptional service and wonderful food. Fourteen of us went there for a family gathering and everyone raved about how great the food was. We can't wait to go back. Everything on the menu is delicious. Come hungry! Try the large burrito. It's awesome!

We have ate here three times. Each and every time the owner who is also the waiter/bartender is extremely rude. The last time we were there with family from out of state for graduation lunch. The owner took our order with an attitude. He became very short and treated people at our table like they were stupid for only asking about some items on the menu. Food is over priced for what you receive as is the alcohol. I will never eat here again and instead take my business to Rochester.

If I could leave "zero" stars, I would. The service was HORRIBLE, waiter was a prick. Bot to mention, he owned the place.... The food was even worse. My food was undercooked and meat was still red and not cooked, had absolutely no flavor. My husband's food was disgusting and poorly put together. They just slapped it on a plate. I would never recommend this to anyone, and I will never return. No wonder the place always looks empty.
