Baoburg

Cute spot with delicious food. Saw this online and decided to go out to Green Pointe and try it with a friend. You order at the counter upon arrival and find a table. There was only one other person when we arrived, so plenty of seats. The outdoor space looked nice for a warmer day. Menu was pretty clear and we tried the Steak Bao (yummy....I could have had 2 of those) and the Garlic Chicken (only down side was the heap of Cilantro on there....not a fan...) this was also good. Chicken cooked perfectly and mixed well with the sauce and rice. If I'm out in this area again would keep on a short list for good eats.

Sometimes the place you intended to dine at is closed so you walk down the street and there is this inviting little joint with chefs cooking up some tasty looking food so you go in and it is exactly what you should have been doing all along. This was my Baoburg experience. The Classic Bao had tender melt in your mouth meat and gave me all the feels. The Steak Bao was the perfect counterpoint with its tasty steak and not too chewy texture. The Purple Sweet Potato Fries were outstanding and very filling. All the above was split between two people and it was plenty for us. Reasonably priced too. Service was friendly and on point. Will definitely return if I have the chance!

The food is amazing! The steak bao buns sooo good. The crispy pork belly was tender and very crispy and the short rib ramen was really good. Its a small cute place. Service is good. Staff are friendly. Portions are generous. The only thing is there were stools and benches to sit in. No back support. Sitting was uncomfortable but I would highly recommend this little gem. We will be back…

Baoburg is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a vacation in the city! the outdoor area feels just like a tropical getaway. My favorite part was how most restaurants will put a candle on your table when the day shifts to night but at this place the waiter came by and put mosquito repellant on everyone’s table. I loved it and thought it was so thoughtful! I get bit at every outdoor patio in the city and it was much appreciated. The food was really good and you’ve gotta try their coconut water straight from the coconut.

Food is delicious, maybe a bit higher in price that I’d normally pay for what it is but certainly worth it. Service is just ok but it somehow feels fine that it’s that way? From the moment you go in you get the feeling that’s meant to be the case. I’m not the biggest fan of their seating arrangements, neither inside or outside are particularly comfortable. Best for a quick solo-meal or for pick up.

Top 3 must tries on the menu are the braised short rib ramen, the duck confit khao soi, and the lemongrass noodles. Their broth is rich, portions are massive, and the frozen lychee margarita is a delicious and fruity take on the classic. Their back garden area is ADORABLE. If the weather is nice, I recommend eating in that space.

We’ve been loving and craving Baoburg a lot lately! The first time we ordered, we did a lot of dishes to sample everything but it was a lot of food. If you’re going to eat here you HAVE to do the Bao buns. I would skip on the pad Thai and fried rice, they were good but there are better places in the neighborhood for those two dishes. The next time we ordered we skipped on the main dishes and just stuck to an assortment of their Bao buns. Favorites include the classic, steak, and shrimp tempura!

A peaceful spot hidden in Greenpoint. As you can see by the photos the food is fresh and well presented. Lovely lady who took our order. The Baos were so delicious. Their dishes are quite filling. We went during lunch and sat in the backyard which has two sections, one open and one closed. Inside is very quite and cozy.
