Universal Bbq Chicken

Hello foodies, today I bring you a great review on a small traditional very authentic BBQ Portuguese chicken takeout place. Olivia’s Universal BBQ Chicken is a hidden gem they are located in the plaza on the corner of HWY 10 and Mayfield where the KFC is but on the backside hidden from the street view so not the easiest place to locate but they do have plenty of parking, and well worth the visit because the food is just fabulous with very unique flavors to what I believe is regionally were they are from Portugal. This place not only has spit-fired chicken but also a BBQ option and a full hot plate table with all sorts of Authentic Portuguese delicacies if you decide to opt out of the chicken option. They have many options with fish and steak, ribs and veggies and salad and crochets, etc. have eaten here on serval occasions I found their food very unique in its flavors unlike the typical or most Portuguese BBq places. Food 5/5 …I ordered their BBQ half chicken dinner with rice and potatoes. Their chicken was perfectly cooked as I like it, I opted for the spicy hot version that was slathered on the chicken before it was served. The hot sauce is a very unique type of peri-peri, it does not taste like the Franks Hot sauce-based sauce that is typically served...I would say it is medium hot at best so anyone can handle the hot version and highly recommended. The potatoes had to be by far the best I have had from a Portuguese takeout place they were a little crunchy on the outside and super soft inside and marinated deep just amazing flavor, The rice was also perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Not dry with a slightly oily texture just the way it is supposed to be really tasty. Service …Typical Portuguese fashion super nice very friendly and service was fast and I was out the door with my food in a few minutes. I will defiantly be back many times to eat the other items on their menu, and if you’re in the area stop by and support this fabulous Portuguese Authentic food takeout I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

First time visiting this place today. Its a family run business and it was an amazing experience and the food was great! The owners are really nice and friendly and take pride in what they are doing. Love the flavor of the chicken with the burning fire wood. It really flavors the chicken and makes you feel like your roasting chicken at a campfire. Potatoes and rice were really good as well as the salads. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for good Portuguese chicken in Brampton.

Chicken o chicken, where do i start, one of the best chickens i have eaten, rotisserie chicken over wood fire coals, done to perfection. The family loved the chicken. Rice was decent/so-so and potatoes were good. Ordered over the phone, it was a snow storm outside, but it was well worth it. The aroma in the store was what foodie's dream for. The staff was courteous, the store wasn't a upscale, nor messy. Will go back again for sure.
