Strade Bianche Cafe

The food and service were really poor. We arrived early (5:30pm) on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was fairly empty. Nonetheless, the service was painfully slow. The food was not fresh or well prepared. The bread was really stale. The kale salad had a bad sour taste. The pesto was inedible. The bruschetta had really large chunks of raw (really strong) garlic. I told the waiter that my salad was bad, but he did not volunteer a substitution or any remedy. It was a very warm evening and there was no ventilation in the restaurant- no a/c or fans or anything. Horrible experience. Go across the street to Pizzeria Locale.

Very good lunch Pesto and pasta was very good pasta done al dente perfect, gnocchi were very good so light and the red sauce was very good and the Chianti was very good. The warm chocolate cake was excellent. The moscato was excellent with the dolci Very nice atmosphere and service. Very reasonable prices. We will definitely be regulars. Update the pizza was very good, eggplant sandwich was good and tiramisu outstanding..

I recently stopped in here for lunch and sat at their lovely patio. Complementary bread immediately as we sat. We ordered their lunch special pre fix - salad or soup and a sandwich or pasta for $14. I went with the romaine salad with a veggie pasta dish. For $14 at a lovely patio, I thought it was a heck of a deal and a great quantity of food. Oh, yeah, it also tasted lovely and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The real reason we stopped by was because of the nod to Italian cycling and just competitive cycling in general - both the US and world over. The inside is decorated with cycling relics, pictures, even italian newspapers. If you're at all into italian food or cycling, then this is a must stop for you! Great addition to Boulder!

Thoroughly disappointing experience. Initially we decided to stop in as the cafe seemed very quiet and relaxed, however, as quiet as it was, the service was excrutiatingly slow and, albeit it friendly - practically non-existent The menu was sparce and appeared incomplete, as the table of guests alongside us seemed to have an array of dishes that did not seem to be listed on the menu. No drink menu (ex. Tea, coffee, soda etc), so who knew what they offered? Delicious bread arrived on the table but sadly was void of butter, oil etc. After almost 5 minutes, we were able to request oil and butter. The oil arrived immediately, the butter took another 5 mins. The Cappuccino came in a cup the size of a thimble and was ingested in two sips...... Again, we had to ask for sugar, and the wait began once more... The pizza was small but tasty and sufficient for lunch. Cut into 4 small pieces I would suggest it as a shared appetizer over an actual entree. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Strade Bianche at the moment. Perhaps in time they will make the neccessary adaptations in order to provide the customers with a pleasant dining experience, but for now, be prepared for miniscule offerings, to ask for everything you would expect to be tableside, and be prepared to wait.......
