The Local

My husband and I were in town celebrating our anniversary and had dinner here. It was fantastic! Laura was amazing with everything from helping us with our reservations, to bringing us a special anniversary dessert! The food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We will definitely visit again whenever we are in the area!

We were in Boone for a girls retreat & had lunch at The Local. It was absolutely delicious. We ordered the brussel sprouts, the margherita flatbread & kale salad for appetizers for 8 people. I had the quinoa bowl with salmon as my main dish. It was all soooo good!! If you haven’t been. You should definitely go. The atmosphere was really nice, they have outdoor sitting & gluten free options for those who need it.

Really fun location, just plan ahead for parking if at prime times like dinner on a Friday night. They know how to do burgers! Prepare to be smacked in the mouth with meaty goodness if you get the Booney Burger. They also have plenty of cocktails to suit your pallet. The 'she crab' is thicker than most chowders I'm used to, but still hit the spot. The trout was also on point, and if you like goat cheese, they have you set. They didn't skimp on that at all.

This restaurant had the most gluten free options or substitutions that I have seen while traveling. My husband and I had already been to Grandfather Winery so we were not extremely hungry. We ordered the cauliflower crust meat flatbread and the Asian chicken salad that was amazing!! He also wanted to try the mama’s hot apple cider with alcohol and oh my word…so tasty! I highly encourage you to visit here while in Boone!

The Local was the only place ready to serve dinner late until 10 p.m., which was a life saver! It was totally worth it, too! The Boonie burger was incredible, and my wife loved the Fig & Bacon Grilled cheese. The 1911 Black Cherry ciders were amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely will plan to revisit in the future.

My wife and I were visiting Boone, NC (July 20, 2023). The Local was highly recommended and it did not disappoint! I had the Apple, Blue, and Bacon flatbread. It was delicious and the honey drizzle kicked it up a notch! My wife enjoyed her Uber Veggie flatbread. The adult beverage cider really complimented the meal. The Mississippi Mud Pie - salted Carmel coffee ice cream cake made a great finishing dessert! But, what really made this meal experience unforgettable was our waitress Emma! She was super upbeat, smiling, engaging, and really made us feel like special customers! She even suggested some local places of interest for us to visit! Five stars + meal and experience! We’ll definitely dine at The Local during our next visit to Boone, NC.
