Golden Chippy

(Updating review from below as it’s now 4 years old and out of date.) Portion size is smaller than it used to be - they’ve recently ditched the cardboard boxes & gone back to paper wrappers (I’m guessing to save costs) so portion sizes can be variable, but given economic pressures I’m not that surprised that prices are higher - fish and chips that used to cost £7.40 when I first reviewed 4 years ago are now over £10. The mushy peas/curry sauce are also no longer free with a purchase. Still good quality. My original review from 2018 : Was worried after the reviews re change of management and price increases / portion reduction so went in tonight and all seemed as usual. Huge cod (about 15” long), 3 big scoops of chips and free peas/curry sauce for £7.40 in total - the portion was so big it managed to fill 2 of us. Maybe complaints re size/price made them go back to the old ways (as the queues were back too) - if so , happy days !

I have received best service ever from this takeaway I've ordered pizza which was really soft and delicious in taste and my friend even bought fish and chips from them it was so crunchy and nicely done.. Staff members were also polite and had smile on there face every time I really love to buy food from them because it's not that expensive as others take aways... I would recommend this to everyone one..

Polite, friendly, fast, professional service, with a reasonably priced and varied menu. We have visited this place a number of times now and would highly recommend it, from our experience. The food is lovely, cooked too our likening, the fish batter is always crispy but not greasy like many fish and chip takeaways. Chips are chunky, golden and crispy. Kebab meat is spicy and always a pleasure to eat. Portions are excellent, Fresh and cooked to order. What more could you wish for ???? We recommend and will use again. Thank you.
