Ihop

We waited for about 15 minutes to be seated. When we got seated, we had to wait again to be greeted by our server. So I was already kind of upset. I wanted to get sweet tea, but they were out. As I was eating my meal, I hear the waitress tell another table that they don't have sweet tea, chocolate milk, apple and, orange juice. Uhm. What the! How am I supposed to enjoy brunch without any of those options? So this is my last time dining in this location. Other than that, food was okay. One star for receiving our order.

Great service. Good food. Gross facility. Dingy, dirty, and poorly maintained - not up to IHOP corporate standards. I would strongly disagree with other reviewers recently saying this place is new and clean. Every surface inside needed a thorough wipe down. The parking lot was full of weeds, and the landscaping looks like it was once nice, but never watered or cared for. One bright spot: the men's bathroom was cleaner than the dining room. We waited a bit, but the host was friendly and quick. Our sever was kind, no-nonsense, attentive, and got everything right. (Tip: if you want to make a left onto hwy 550, drive NW on the gravel road behind the restaurant toward the Santa Ana Star hotel to get to the light).

Walked in and took more than 5 minutes for someone to come seat us. It took about 10 minutes for someone to take a drink order and we've been waiting for over 20 minutes and still no breakfast. It was not a peak time either and all we ordered was 2 kids meals. I could have went to the store and then home a cooked breakfast faster.

We have eaten here several times and it is usually good. This time the service was extremely slow, it took around 45 minutes to get our meal. My wife's omelette didn't have the tomatoes like it was supposed to. They were busy but not busy enough to warrant that much of a wait and only giving me a half carafe of coffee during that long of a wait was irritating. The server did give us a 20% discount because of the wait.

I really like IHOP, they have good food. Unfortunately we have had so-so service experiences at both this one and the one on Unser the past three times. Sometimes it was the waitstaff, sometimes the kitchen not getting things right. The good news is that management always went the extra mile to make things right. I just feel like there might be a training opportunity that's being missed...
