Very good Mexican food. My Girlfriend and I went here on a Friday afternoon. The setting is casual and the service was great. The food came out promptly after ordering. The tacos are fresh, cheap and just the right amount of food for lunch. We both left happy and full. We were excited to find an authentic Mexican place so close to where we live.

Definitely not impressed with their super nachos. Just very flat and skimped on all their inexpensive ingredients. There is no reason to go here. Flan had flavor, but the texture and appearance was that of two day old pudding.

Don't go here. I've gone twice. I got a torta that was junk the first time -- chicken was dry but somehow very greasy, but the portion was small and none of the sandwich's ingredients were fresh or tasty. Then I just got a carnitas burrito. Way too much rice and beans, not enough meat, and the meat itself was so old and dehydrated I would compare it to rope. Top that off with prices that are too high. Nope.

I have been working off Shattuck for a year and finally got to try this place a couple of weeks ago. I had 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, beans and a coke. The food was fine but I kept getting little crunchy bits in my rice. I initially thought the rice was just a bit burnt but pulled out one of the pieces to discover that it was little pieces of wire. I was scared and approached the gentleman behind the counter and showed him. He also looked shocked but just said sorry and stood there. I put the late on the counter and left immediately. I don't know if this was a one time deal or not but I have never had anything like this happen before and will never eat here again.

We've lived in Berkeley for a year and have been underwhelmed with the Mexican food. That is no longer the case. What a great spot for affordable, delicious, Mexican food. Filled up on a chicken flauta and unbelievable carne azada fajitas. We will frequent Fraustos!

I walked in and asked to fill my water bottle up and the owner pulled a cold pitcher from the fridge. I didn’t even buy anything. What a nice, thoughtful, guy. Tomorrow I’m paying back as a paying customer.

Generic Mexican Food. Service was handled by Husband and Wife team. The restaurant displays rotisserie chicken, but no Rotisserie chicken on site. Lunch was $30.00 for 2 people.

Decent food, but certainly did not stand out. Torta was big but not very flavorful and could have used some fresh veggies. Would try again if in the area.
