Gerry's Takeaway

Been looking for a good take away in Bathgate, was told to try here, came in with my mum this evening. (I was having a bit of a bad afternoon/evening so had to leave while mum ordered. Food always makes the mood better though) However, the service was amazing and the staff where super friendly, place was spotless and overall was a great experience. Food was piping hot so when we got home it was still hot! which I love! the chips and pizza where amazing and will definitely be back again! I will be recommending here to people I know when they come up for a holiday.

After having such a high standard of chippys in Edinburgh and among my favourites are the fish market and city restaurant, I’m quite particular when it comes to my fish suppa. After reading some reviews of Gerry’s I was on the fence about trying it this evening and was about to settle on some wings and nuggets from the freezer but however my wife and I set out down the road to see what Gerry’s had to offer. Upon arriving we had a few questions, I wasn’t sure if I wanted the two small pieces of fish or the one large piece as they were the same price. I settled for the two small pieces which were quickly scoffed down when I get home that’s why there’s no photo of it but what can I say. Im pretty excited that our local chippy is pretty banging. The fish never had that oily greasy taste some chip shops have and had the perfect level of crispness to it. The chips were nice too, not crispy ones but more on the soggy side which I know a lot of people prefer. Maybe next time I’ll ask them if they can fry my chips for a couple minutes longer. Would highly recommend!

The best chippy Bathgate has ever had–for pure taste and value, Gerry's is miles ahead of its competition, past and present. Plenty of staff to keep your wait time down, reasonable price, well packaged (ensuring your food is still hot and fresh when get home) and always a massive selection on offer. Fish, chips, king rib, pizzas, pakora, smoked sausage, kebabs–all fantastic! Make sure you also pick up a bottle of Gerry's Chippy Sauce, to add your own measure.
