Trappeze Pub

Man, I love to eat my way across Athens. I visit often but had never been to Trappeze and I’m so glad I tried it out on this last visit. The food is modern Southern and they do it well. They have an awesome cocktail menu and Belgian beer selection and the environment is airy and open with plenty of room for big parties or smaller groups to dine together. Our portions were substantial - we had plenty for lunch and leftovers for dinner! We had to eat in a hurry because of an event we were attending later that day, but I’d love to come back when I have more time to sample more of the menu and the drinks!

This place is great and right in the heart of downtown Athens. Nice place to take our college daughters when visiting. The hamburger was cooked really well and will cook based on temperature you like. The fries are awesome and come with all the burgers and sandwiches. Fresh cut potatoes and fried really well. We got ours with rosemary and the garlic aioli. My wife had a so I chicken sandwich. It was enough to share and was juicy, which is hard with chicken breast. My daughter had the grilled cheese which was far from your at home grilled cheese. The cheese, buttery toast and bacon made it great and very rich. Also large portion. The burger we got had pimento cheese, the burger was great but they put a lot of pimento cheese that was over the top for me, so I simply scraped some off. It's a very popular place, and you need to get your name on the list. Definitely recommend.

Every time I come to Athens I always make sure to stop by Trappeze for dinner. It has a great location downtown, wonderful ambiance and an amazing staff. The restaurant has seating at the bar, booths, tables and outside which is great in the Spring and Summer. I've sat at the bar all the times I've been and the service has been prompt and friendly no matter how crowded it is. Would highly recommend coming here to eat if you are in Athens!

Great location and drink options, to include a well rounded on-tap beer menu. Bacon ranch chicken sandwich was awesome. Fries are delicious. The fish from the fish and chips menu item was off though. We’re thinking the oil was too hot because the batter was very crispy but the fish was mushy and didn’t have any flavor.

Our server was fabulous. I don’t remember her name, but she had tattoos and wore glasses 🤷🏻‍♂️😂. She was SO kind and knowledgeable and would just magically appear whenever we needed or even thought about anything-like a waitress genie...the food was very good. I had a burger and my wife had a chicken sandwich..their chicken sandwich is phenomenal. The burger was good, but doesn’t stand out among a lot of other good burgers I’ve had. The fries on the other hand-quite possibly the best I’ve ever had, especially when combined with the garlic aioli and raspberry ketchup. I had 2 desserts; the peanut butter pie and the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The pieces were much smaller than I thought for $9, but they are very rich. I wouldn’t get the desserts again. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Trappeze pub.
