We had the all-day Veggie Breakfast here at ColJan on Easter Monday at lunchtime. Only a few other customers were in because most of the shops in Ashburton had decided to stay closed. It was a fabulous mix in the breakfast, large beans that were not sweetened like tinned baked beans, haloumi cheese and expertly poached egg. A treat for the long holiday weekend and the start of the tourist season.

We had a really excellent meal, beautifully cooked and presented, and the food’s provenance was based on local sourcing. The staff were great, and the live acoustic guitar music produced a relaxing atmosphere. All in all first class!

Had a superb meal here tonight. Loved the decor and relaxed vibe. The food was tasty and beautifully presented and the service was attentive and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere and very pleased that we were able to bring our dog with us as we couldn't have left him alone at the campsite we were staying on. All in all the perfect end to our mini break in Dartmoor, we shall be back and only wish we had a similar eatery near us.

Myself and my friend visited for a morning coffee and were quickly persuaded by the excellent choices on the menu to indulge in a breakfast. We both opted for the vegan pancakes with summer berries. These were delicious.
It would be good to have a sign or to be told to pay at the bar on leaving, as this wasn't clear when we visited.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here on a Sunday. Very friendly and so accommodating for gluten free. I have a gluten free allergy and I could eat most of the menu, really impressed! We had the most delicious ham, piccalilli and boiled egg sandwich, and sweet potato rosti with spinach. Everything tastes super fresh and they use local ingredients. Will definitely be returning. Apparently they do a Mexican night which id like to try

Lovely restaurant, cosy atmosphere. Loved the flowers and candles. The food was AMAZING! Fabulous stuff, fabulous wine! Thanks guys for being impeccable ( Chris and James).
Would definitely recommend.

The food was very very good and the atmosphere was lovely; the steak was tender and very tasty and the lamb was also super tasty. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had a very nice evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Lovely restaurant with a warm atmosphere and great service. We had the charcuterie board to start and then an amazing steak and ale pie and a tasty pork chop. Definitely try the blueberry cheese cake for dessert!
After the chef was done cooking, he stopped by each table to ask how your dinner was and if you were happy with everything. Lovely touch that we really liked! We will definitely come back next time we are in Dartmoor!

WOW! the food is to die for! The food quality and flavours you would expect to pay top dollar for but it is at reasonable prices. This is top quality food coupled with great service and a friendly warm welcoming atmosphere.
