Asian Buffet

It's exactly what you would expect for a quick lunch or dinner. Still decent selection of food. Has a rather large cold bar area with different salads abs some sushi. Hot bars are good. They do have some American food too for those that still pick to eat that. Staff is friendly. I have only eaten there at lunch, but it has always been quick seating and no waiting. Really can't beat $7 buffet for lunch.

OK, it's a 5 star for a buffet. It's not like ... Super restaurant good. But for a buffet it's good. I love an Asian buffet. Don't need to know what stuff is to order it. Don't have to limit yourself to 1 or 2 dishes. The food is very fresh. When it's slow they only put out tiny portions. The staff clears plates quickly. The buffet is huge. Has an entire island just for deserts. Another for simple sushi, another for western food, and 3 for hot Chinese dishes. About 3 times bigger than others in the area. It's always been slow when I've been there, but the food has been hot and fresh. The place is built like a banquet hall. Huge. Hope their business picks up. I can't figure how they'll stay open otherwise. They do to-go based on weight and there are a lot of customers for that at lunch. Prices are cheaper at lunch but the selection seems to be the same. Decor isn't fabulous, but it's clean and modern enough. Good parking. Easy access to west street or go around the back of the block to get back on 2 towards Edgewater.

So, I was overly optomistic. I've tried this place 3 times and most of the food is awful, and old. If in the rare instance they bring something fresh out, it is only the shrimp that is good. AND, if the food is old (it is) or even out (often), they would not refresh it even if politely requested to do so. And, there is one particularly rude older waitress that has been there each time. Not only did she snatch my fortune cookie away, she did it with malice and great gusto. I'll keep looking for a good Asian buffet in the area, but my research at this Asian Buffet is concluded. Result: bad, old food and rude staff.

I have not had a Chinese buffet in 3-4 years, so I thought I would try it out. I went in around 730PM on a Tuesday to have dinner, I was not impressed. Most of the food was dry, as it had been sitting out for a while, and it looked like there were no plans to add to it until it was all gone. The hibachi chicken was good, mainly because it was the freshest thing on the buffet. Desert bar was typical of a chinese buffet. Don't plan on going again. Price was $11 and some change with just a water to drink. Service was good.

Edit: We will NEVER come to this restaurant again. While we've always enjoyed ourselves in the past, the last 2 times we've come have been HORRIBLE! This last time was the last straw. My 6 year old daughter got a plate of fried clams and some shrimp. The shrimp stunk and the clams were so old they were mush so I told her she didn't have to eat them. The waitress came to clear our plates and proceeded to scream at me. At first I couldn't understand what she was upset about, but after at least 5 full minutes of loud, embarrassing screaming, I figured out that she was yelling at me and my daughter for wasting food! I told her that the food was bad but she told me to make my daughter eat it anyway. I was livid! This establishment ought to be put out of business. The food has continuously gone down hill and the service obviously sucks. No one I know will ever go to this place again.
