Great vibe. Friendly staff good food. Excellent beer selection. Mac and cheese was dynamite. Smoked brisket was below average--maybe they were having an issue with the smoker that day as it was a little tough and lacked much smokey flavor. Overall good experience and willing to return despite the brisket being a dud.

Everyone really enjoyed the dishes! I would have at least 4 people to eat the cinnamon rolls with. The meats are good and could use some bbq. Overall clean and good service.

this place impressed my entire family, which is hard to do because we look for such different things in a restaurant. there’s several people who just want classic barbecue, and then me, not actually a huge meat eater and a foodie who loves creative and interesting dishes. Everyone was happy here! We got almost all the sides and all were fabulous, but the hallelujah potatoes and the cornbread stuffing were the can’t misses. The turkey was some of the best turkey I’ve ever had. The brisket, burnt ends, and sausage were all great too (Relying mostly on my family for this one - but they said the burnt ends were a little more tough than they like but still very good.) The beer and cocktail selection have something for everyone. The servers and bartenders are both so friendly and kind, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which is another thing I love in a restaurant experience. The overall vibe of the place was great. I was not expecting to be this excited about a dining experience in Ames!

LOVE this place. Awesome joint in the old train station. The patio cannot be beat. If you're getting a side dish, go with the beans. Trust me. Spicy sausage (made in house, BTW) in the jam as well. Excellent local beer selection. This is one of the few places we can bring our dog. Lenny loves the staff who bring him cold water and pets on the head. I'm also one of the adults at the fence with the kids watching the trains roll past. Toot toot! All aboard for the good times! Just and all-around awesome place with great food and better folks. Go check it out!

Incredible! From the moment we walked in to the end the service was great, attentive and friendly and informative. Came in to a 30 minute wait and was put on a wait with text notifications which is super convenient. Went to the bar for drinks while we waited and were offered many different choices from the menu, all unique and structured well and decently priced and delicious. Bartenders were friendly and informative, answered the questions about drinks, and offered a beer sample after noticing us discussing the menu which I really appreciated. Our table came up and they cashed us out quickly and we were seated promptly. Amazing space throughout the entire restaurant, the decor, the set up and general atmosphere. Server greeted us quickly and was so friendly, immediately asked if we came in for the cinnamon roll(which we were) and got that started for us. We ordered additional food and we loved everything from the speed in which the food came out, to the presentation, to of course, the taste. We've tried this place a few times now, and I have never seen the quality of food be inconsistent and they have some of the best burnt ends in Iowa, very good bbq sauces, unique dishes, and I've yet to experience bad service. Will definitely keep coming back!

I have to highly recommend the Sunday brunch food here. Portions are big, so value is great. Food itself tastes superb - and even just looks amazing. Server at the bar was nice. All comes together for a great experience!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case they are definitely right. This dish was absolutely amazing! I was here in work and just stumbled upon this place and I am so glad I did. The flavor, the texture, the aroma was just spot on.

Thank you for a fantastic meal !!! From the fried okra to the hallelujah potatoes and the insanely good cornbread, everything led up to extremely well prepared bbq. As a transplant from the south to the midwest, between WI, MI, IL & IA this was by far the best southern Que we have had. Ribs and Burnt ends were fantastic and the homemade sauces on point! Our not meat eater tried the Catfish Po Boy and raved as well. Cool environment, MW nice, and diverse beer menu completed a fantastic meal. Thank you.
